Screenshot this in case I die because of it. Good luck if I do! My wife will fuck you up.
I had to drive that car before you, and probably better than you as well.
I may be grey in hair, but it covers wisdom beyond your years.

(NGL, that was a good zing, did me a giggle.)
hahahaha! I was just thinking I would smoke your ass in a race....should have joined us when we were Karting in Norleans!

Also, what do you call car guys who've owned the same car? Kinda like eskimo brothers have fucked the same chick, what is the car equivalent of that?

Technically Griff sold it to you, so that's not on me.

Hahaha. I’m supposed to be running comps for a client, but it bored me and couldn’t stop thinking of max.

Actually, Dan, the first one I ever wrote was for you. It was after biking in Wilmington and seeing you almost get crushed by some chick. I never finished it tho.
Don't tell Allison :lolol:

Getting nearly killed on two wheels in Wilmy though... I love it, it makes me feel alive.

J-Ho-Fo-Show69 wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 4:05 pm In my spare time, I’ve been coming up with obituaries for people. Here is one for you Max:

RIP Max DFD (19-something - 2055)

The world mourns the tragic loss (or maybe not?) of DFD Max, who has finally made a decision—though, ironically, not one he had much say in. After years of painstakingly debating which car to buy next, and whether to turn left or right at that intersection, fate has stepped in to make the ultimate choice for him.

DFD Max was a man of many passions, but none greater than his love for cars. Unfortunately, that love often translated into endless hours of research, test drives, and price comparisons, only to ultimately keep driving his old, “perfectly fine” EV sedan. Car dealerships across the city will now see a drastic dip in foot traffic, as their most indecisive visitor is no longer around to “think about it and come back next week.”

He leaves behind a trail of abandoned online shopping carts, half-finished projects, and friends who are still waiting for him to decide what car to buy.

Services will be held sometime next week… or maybe the week after. We’ll let you know once we figure it out. In lieu of flowers, please send a strongly worded message encouraging him to finally commit—to anything.

His last words were fuck Toyota and I should have gotten a 911.

Rest easy, DFD Max. Or don’t. Up to you.
Fine work here. He's not going to choke down a 911 while the BAEZN is sidelined. That's in the genetic no-fly zone. But fuck Toyota. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Japanese_War

Comes out my “stalling” may have been due to the overzealous hill hold assist … others are bitching about it… weird cuz I haven’t stalled a manual in a long time

Sounds like his BAEZN fetish is slipping looking at the petite fräulein lass bark soup that is the mini.

This tumultuous search our wasabi wheeler is on makes me happy to be decisive. However, I’m still wondering where he ends up. miso confused about what to get next too. This thread doesn’t help.

Weird, hill hold assist really sucked in my GTI but has been fine in my subsequent cars. Would’ve thought they could have made it not poo by now.

Why is a low mileage s2000 not in play here for a 3rd fun car?

Vert ✅
Fun as fuck ✅
Manual ✅
Hold value for when you sell in 19 months ✅

If you need to take the kid, throw him in the IX.

It’s also cheaper than any option mentioned

Max hates convertibles and fun in general.

However, I agree this would be an EXCELLENT option for him.

A lotus elise / exige (provided he can fit) is another great option this space. Fun sports car thats virtually depreciation proof.

I lived the old Beemer life before… this model in particular ( IS) is quite a handful. Not super interested in wrenching on a car and oil leaks at the moment

I don’t think any of those are linebacker approved.

If I wanted a “fun” car, and didn’t need to carry the kids in it, I’d get a 1st gen Boxster S. They’re cheap as shit and loads of fun. Maybe a Z4 if I wanted it to feel like less of a Tupperware tub.

Back to the good ol poorsche Argument.

I actually looked at fancy grand coupes
AMG gt53
Panamera
Rs5
They are all 50k+ for a non ragged ok example and will continue to depreciate like crazy. I have near 0 interest in a high mile (50k+) German car.

Lotus Elise is actually a decent choice but I think that’s more of a 3rd not second car. I do want to be able to drive it to work on occasion. The Elise is 100% fun and nothing else … I want like 50% fun 25 comfort and 25 % practicality if that makes sense

BMW of whatever flavor, CTS-V, Audi S, Lexus IS-F, Volvo Polestar, Genessis, etc. Pick one you like the most, but not some FWD hatch

I’m actually happy about that, the tall guys can have their own shit.
