This seems almost suspicious. Certified 2018 S4 with only 8,400 miles for $42k. Carfax says no accidents or damage.

spooky dill season. The wifes :mk6: is in great shape and all. But shes had it for 6 years now. Its paid for (this year). Logic is to keep it and drive into ground BUT THIS IS DFD. Your logic is :wrong: Shes done well and has been very frugal. She has the new car bug and wants something nice. We've been shopping on/off for about 6 months. We've said to hold off for 1 year and bank her $500 car payment. :troywax: We've had a short list. She wants a wagon/hatch thing. She sees the allure of an suv for the future of maybe kids, after years of hating SUVs. She wants the finer things in life and shes done very well in her private practice.

audi q3
audi q5
macan/macan S. :waxer: :notsure: plus the upkeep seems to be a wallet hit according to everyone.
amg wagon :nope: to large and $$$ plus rare
tiquan :nope: the new one is too large. Not enough features for price point.
kia sportage? because chalupa is our friend.
cx-5 signature - on fence of looks. its kinda love hate
acura RDX PEX edition
:notsure: on the entire benz line up or product line in general. Its very confusing and overlapped with models/trims/specs.

Budget ~$40k new or used.

Things I want:
- 360 camera would be REAL nice.
-heated cooled seats
-ALL THE SENSORS SO SHE DOESNT HIT SHIT. This has been an issue in the :mk6:

Things she wants:
-"Girl sized" ergo for creature features. Easy to reach radio/nav.
-simple controls
-not bust steering wheel with 100k buttons.
-good design
-hid/xenon headlights
-sport looks.

She is afraid her family will "judge her" for spending money on a new car especially if it has one of the mentioned :fancy: badges. She is also torn on saving money on this paid for well maintained car and having a lil TREAT YO SELF :troywax:

TL;DR

Chulpa :dillerman: catches a nice trade in 2017 SQ5. 24k miles. It isnt a steal. Its a trim higher than what we looked at BUT checks a LOT of boxes.

Image

He in at $36k plus standard :dillerman: pack. so about $38k. MSRP was $62k. has a few good packages.

Im torn as the 2018 model gets the :jimp: digital cluster/dash with a soft update of front end lights to LED and a cleaner interior design.

I can easily upsell myself to a newer SQ5 and immediiately sought out other :dill: s. I see these are selling very well and the used market is flush with them. In 1 more year the newer 2018/19 will be the same price. They lose about 50% value in 2 years.

I do like the new SQ5's. Try and hold out for another year to get a 2018.

while you are :notwrong: there is a lot of thought in all this. Holding out for the 2018 is ideal BUT our friend has a :notbad: :dill: on one right now. Other pro is it being a 2017 has the lastest revisions and all perks of a last model year.

We will atleast look at it today and the wife will test drive it.

The 2018s will be $36k in 1.5 years.

FWIW that white SQ5 was traded in for a Q7 which still uses the supercharged 3.0 and he likes the power delivery of that better although it's less powerful and ultimately a slower vehicle. Also a major reason for the trade was that even though those red seats look :amaze: they supposedly were only comfortable for about an hour at a time.

If you could deal with the older MMI it might be worth it. Does that gen have AA or carplay?

Previous gen is still a good looking SUV. I just think holding out for the better tech in 18+ would be worth it.

It's a decent setup. I have a couple in the lab at work and one on my desk.

On the Q5 AA/ACP wasn't added until 2018 IIRC.

 but not a deal breaker at the current price point. Will bring a cord and see what it does with an android phone. Even now I rarely use AA in the :gorf: XM, bluetooth and sometimes NAV home.

Yeah, having the B&O system on my desk ruined my drive home in the ZR2 and Corvette.... but it is not without compromises, I have to have the full infotainment harness on my desk along with a MOST ring and amps. It takes up the entire rear desk in my cube.
