I know I’m misremembering what the guy at the shop said, but one of the little slide rails in the assembly itself broke. It’s “closed” now, but can’t seat all the way because of that broken part, so the rear passenger side is popped up a little bit.
might help

also this?

Oh thanks dude. I’ll send that to the shop and see if he thinks it could work. Would be dope.

The rest of the fleet is canister spin-on filters so, no worries there.
That’s right, didn’t remember the exact situation other than the plastic cap. Honestly a very easy car for erl changes, no complaints.
The X3 has an aluminum oil pan with a traditional drain plug too.
It's the same one that the AWD version has, it's got the hole for the driveshaft in it and everything. .

Makes oil changes even simpler although I had no issues with the plastic one on the 328i

On the one hand, fair... on the other, much more complicated things exist that don't break all the time.
I think the culprit has been identified. Plastic parts subjected to hammering UV damage. USE METAL BRO.

you will accept the use of plastic in places it does not belong pleb. You are not an automotive engineering expert.

But underneath they are METAL. Plastic coating sure makes sense from a corrosion standpoint. In any event, Brandon's experience and friend of mine with a 2008 W211 MB Pano are basically the same.....plastic parts, expensive reconstruction. Throw in a little Johnny P Oktorberfest GTI sunroof and the whole Euro package slicktop on the 2025 R starts to make some sense.

I'm still waffling about the 86 sale, today was the last to pull the trigger on $32.2K... I got an updated offer with $32K, so no huge loss if I :nope: out still. Honestly now that we'll have a garage and my mom offered up Durango access, I'm more :fuckyeah: on keeping it even though I don't/won't use it much for a while.

The sunroof in the E30 broke. Womp womp.
To be expected, and yes, it's a plastic part.

Man, I wanted a GTO way back when I bought my C5, ended up with a C5 and no regrets, it was definitely a better car to drive. Wild how GTOs are apparently 50% more than they were 11 years ago.

If I dump the 86, I’m going four door.

In case y’all are wondering…
911T can be had without markup. Order in July receive by November. 10% due when Porsche starts building (in this case August). According to my local dealer

I totally would but probably more than I want to spend. How much are manual G8s going for? I think I’d rather SS since it’s newer.
