Don't need to see out the back of your 2.0T Camaro when you're infront of everyone.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 1:20 pm
Also Cammisa also usually loops in Randy Pobst for driving impressions, who is a certified GOAT on the track.

Toyota rejected the order for the GR86 today. 6MT Premium cars are still blocked by the CAT and NY region distributors. Their system outright cancels orders the regions don't preference.
GSM at my old dealership carries some sway with the region. He's making a call to the region but it looks like I'm going to have to settle for a base model, or look to source a car >5 hours away.

When I try to build/spec/view inventory on Toyota's site, it just says that this car is unavailable.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 12:49 pm Toyota rejected the order for the GR86 today. 6MT Premium cars are still blocked by the CAT and NY region distributors. For some reason I was starting to get impatient yesterday and just wanted to try to buy, I really need to just continue being patient and get one in 2023 or so.

They’re only building a handful of cars in Premium trim in general, and the vast majority are automatics. It looks like only 20-30% of premiums are MT cars…D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 1:09 pmWhen I try to build/spec/view inventory on Toyota's site, it just says that this car is unavailable.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 12:49 pm Toyota rejected the order for the GR86 today. 6MT Premium cars are still blocked by the CAT and NY region distributors. The mid December allocation dropped today and nationwide only about 70 premium models in it out of about 350 cars for the nation. Of the 350, only 15 in Neptune.
There is apparently one allocation in Seattle in Neptune, premium, and not showing pre-sold.
Phone calls are being made to attempt a dealer trade/port swap. We’ll see.

Makes sense I guess, I was wondering the same thing. I am also confused on all of this, like I would imagine 50%+ of 86 buyers would want manual and Neptune bluefledonfoot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 1:49 pmChip shortagesDesertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 1:30 pm Also, with a price delta of 3 grand I have no idea why the base model is even being made.

Sort of curious, does Toyota do actual "orders" on the BRZ as it is shared with subaru ? Or is it the same old allocation game. Same goes for the supra I suppose. Can you spec one and have a dealer get it for you. Or do you have to scavenge the country for something that "matches" across 6 states and has markup in a showroom with a red bow on it.

All of the accessories listed are port installed. If you get an allocation before they hit port that’s when you can make your changes…. Which is the same as it is for all Toyota product.
Dealers are able to place “sold orders” but if the region doesn’t import it, you’re beat. All of my stores I have connections for won’t be able to get Premium MTs until they allow it to be preferenced. Apparently by the late spring they will open to order in my regions.
I’ve just got a text from my old DSPM asking if the canceled order was really for me or not... Looks like something’s cooking, hopefully.

Yea these are[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:56 pmWell, that's really due to thebrake setup on the JCW.
There are some good tire choices for 17s, though, and there are some wheels out there that fit the JCW brakes.
I always liked these, and they fit OE centercaps:

I didn't have issues with the 215/18 tire size I think it's the same one that comes/came stock on the BRZ. Love my contis on there, but I am anti giant wheels. So I hate the 18s on the mini they need to be 17"s tops and probably 16s.

Strings have been pulled.
Somehow the available car heading to Seattle hasn't got on the ship yet and is still in Japan... It's being diverted from the boat to Portland to the next ship heading to the East Coast.
Contacts at the region got the block on MT Premiums sorted out to transfer it into the dealership's mid-December allocation cycle this morning and everything locked in this lunchtime. I should have a delivery window next week.
