I had meetings backtobacktobacktoback today. Holy fuck.
Everyone have a good hump day?

Haven’t humped yet, but maybe not too late?
I had a bunch of meetings as well
Interviewed a candidate for our team who I actually really liked. My manager hated him for some reason but it seems like the director level people liked him. The post interview meeting with my director, my manager, and myself was really awkward as my manager made it really personal and got all bitchy when my director seemingly took my side over hers.
I just took my bike out for a quick ride with my new tubeless road tires, was

Great hump day. Had a virtual meeting with a prosecutor for my distracted driving charge, and since i was sitting idle, and my record is pretty good (not exemplary he says), his is making me a plea bargain to lower the charge from $600/3 points/loss of license for 3 days and a $268 reinstatement fee, to a "unsafe start from a stop light" which carries a 2 point charge, and the distracted is getting removed from my record completely. It will still carry a $500 charge, but my insurance company won't rake me over the coals for this one. Fuck, i got lucky!

My humpday was my Monday as I took Monday and yesterday off.
Today I had my annual review. I got a 2.7% raise. , with an assurance that this year the employees "will be taken care of" at the end of the year, which means we're going to get good bonuses.

Zillspec straight?

Yep, a nice, green privacy wall is our goal. In the spring I'll plant some more at 90 degrees from these, going back to the Hopefully it'll only take a couple of years to get there. Thanks!

Thanks,
Next step after all the trees are planted and established is a fence all around the area. Then I can remove the fence that encloses the patio to make one big, yuuge space. Then, I plan to install a big round cobblestone patio in the middle of the space with a fire pit in the middle of it.
I really should start a thread about this.

I need to update the bunker thread. The place has come a long way in a year.

Anyone have Halloween plans/ideas? This is my first year living in a real city and with weather that will not be 40F and rainy. I can finally wear that sexy fill-in-the-blank costume.
Our whole main street is going to be closed to cars and have events everywhere all day.
The first thing that comes to mind is Wonder Woman.

Nice Christmas Tree farm Ron.
Man, I haven't thought about it but I do enjoy a good costume festive event. what I would do, I have little desire to go to bars on holidays where they're packed anymore, I'll have to see who is having a house party or host one here.troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 4:04 pm Anyone have Halloween plans/ideas? Figures a desert dweller wouldn't know that arborvitaes are not Christmas trees.

We're hosting again this year after skipping last year. All our friends are fully vaccinated and we'll take some measures like keeping windows open and ceiling fans running for good air circulation. Plus we'll spread the party throughout the instead of just 1 room like we usually do. And we're asking people to wear masks when they're not eating/drinking.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 4:49 pmMan, I haven't thought about it but I do enjoy a good costume festive event. what I would do, I have little desire to go to bars on holidays where they're packed anymore, I'll have to see who is having a house party or host one here.troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 4:04 pm Anyone have Halloween plans/ideas? We have no friends and don't really have anywhere to go for Halloween.
I vastly prefer donning my lederhosen and attending octoberfests. Missed those this year too
