I have the M Sport. I also bought your old 255s from Melon. Probably fucked on the offset but I'll give it a shot. Worst case scenario they are not curbed courtesy of
I didn't realize my old made it all the way to CA.
They are in perfect condition.

Earn it and burn it, Val.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.

But the only one that will be worth anything is the m2 cs and that is 85-105k the others will likely tank in value.
Damn 100k really is the old 50k as far as car pricing goes. I am not sure I’d like to park another 100k in cash like that
Manual M2s of every flavor will be a safe investment, I think.
Safe as in won't be going to the basement like a regular 2/3 series, I agree. I do think the regular M2s will probably end up closer to high 20s as a floor for a nice one, but it's not like you won't lose $10k buying a Camry and driving it for 3 years. Might as well enjoy yourself in an M2.

Boxsters in general seem to just fall. They're by far the least loved Porsches, and the 718 gen seems even less loved. Is the GTS still a 4 cyl? The 6-cyl models might do decently.
edit: did some reading, the GTS 4.0 model will probably hold some value... but I don't think it'll still be $90K in five years.

Because Porsche is a rich mans game and cockster and gayman are for the poors

I guess? They are also kind of better. 911s are just HUGE. Post 997 they really don't do a ton for me, I would rather a Cuckster/Cayman.
They are nice looking cars and turn my head. maybe I'm just not into them because I don't really bother lusting after cars I can't afford, pal.
Every time I see one... I see 200k I am not sure I am THAT much into cars.
Maybe I would feel differently if I was rich enough, but I just sort of wonder if I would really be having that much more fun in a $200K 911 versus a $40K used Boxster. Serious diminishing returns at that point, and I would just be embarrassed to own such an expensive car given the wife and I both come from pretty humble beginnings, it feels very

I think externally it will be a "porsche" so the humble argument falls apart quick. To a plebe a 40k cockster and a 200k 911 turbo S are "fancy"

If you're rich enough to buy a $200k car, it's like buying a $40k or less car for normal people.
But I agree, I'm not sure I'd ever spend that much on any vehicle, it would be low on my list of things to buy when loaded.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

At some point, it just becomes a status thing.
Pretty much just this.

Although not the illustrious 400, this one is good enough to bring me great joy and since it has a fairly low point of entry I really don't think it will be depreciating much.
 , I only clicked on your more recent link. Great minds think alike!
55k is my mental cutoff for a fun car, you can pretty much have anything you want from a fully loaded off-road Jeep-Cuck, to a C7 'wette, to a V8/RWD luxury cruiser clad it imported Italian leather. Sure there are nicer versions for double the price, but diminishing returns above the half-century point. I also think an MR2 with a 200 HP mid-engine config is the bees knees and this is many levels up from what interests me.

Yeah, maybe I would get the $5k roller instead of the $1k roller, and the connecting rods would be Oliver instead of Scat.
