house inspection was today, buyer is accepting as is. they found a few minor things, obviously nothing major
so appraisal was last week, waiting for the good news this week.
Meanwhile, we look for lots / land.
well...that's been an adventure so far.
went and looked at lots and a house last Saturday. the house was nearly perfect but the people that died of lung cancer there were heavy smokers. house was already near top of budget.
lots ..of course the one we like the most has stupid restrictions. 1.5 acres of land and I have to answer to original land owner pawpaw for how big of a house I want to build, and if I can cut down trees that block 2/3s of the lot from the house. also it's only approved for a 3 bedroom house and minimum square footage is 2250. Fucking white people.
So by Monday we expanded both the budget and the search radius. one lot was amazing, but I'm glad that I went and talked to the neighbor... lot is right of way restricted for the i140 expansion. Like, the people who bought land across from said lot are in a lawsuit with sellers because they didn't disclose that fact and the county will not allow them to build. Don't lie on disclosures kiddos.
Right now the 3 main contenders are 2 lots at base of foothills parkway with a 30 minute commute, but even longer to downtown Knoxville if I ever have change jobs...and 1 that's likely way out of budget but lots of land (27 acres) and in a fantastic location 15 minutes to work.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.
