Check this rig out. How much is too much to spend on one of these things? Build quality looks fantastic but it's 50k

Exactly! Makes zero sense. Our $2k popup is perfect.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 9:57 pm
Like, for an off-road teardrop I’d pay $5k max.
Such an occasional use item.

Any suggestions?[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 9:57 pm

Harbor freight trailer, weld a square tube structure on it, install roof top tent on the trailer. Do it right and you have a pull drawer for the fridge, kitchen, and spice rack.KYGTIGuy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 6:09 amAny suggestions?[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 9:57 pm

Y'all should follow @johnprolly on Instagram. He has a JDM RHD 80 and goes wheeling / overlanding with it to take cycling pictures. Lots of really great pics, and frequently pics of his rig. Some of the places he gets to are incredible.
I love his rig. Was better before he put the RTT on there but he does seem to like it a lot. I think he and his wife aren't ever in one spot for multiple nights while they're wheeling.
Also love his high clearance custom hitch mounted bike rack.

Gotta think REALLY hard about where you're going and what you're going to do with it. Ultimately, I don't see an off-road camper being anything more than a liability. I'd rather setup a basecamp somewhere easily accessible with the cheap pop-up or a tent or something and then wheel from there. There's NOWHERE in the midwest to really utilize off-road campers.KYGTIGuy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 6:09 amAny suggestions?[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 9:57 pm

There are people who have made off-road popup campers. Those are the ultimate in offroad camper trailers.

$50K is too much. This is for a guy with an 8 car garage full of EXTREME BRO cars and trucks.KYGTIGuy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 2:13 pm Check this rig out. How much is too much to spend on one of these things? Build quality looks fantastic but it's 50k
