Agreed fully. You made the right call on the PDK.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 12:46 pmI'm getting there with the PDK. I know there's no way in hell I could out perform it, and it is fun to drive. All that with consistent launches and no riding the traffic with your left leg only getting the workout.

Was it the right choice, or is there no wrong choice with a 911?Johnny_P wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 10:33 pmAgreed fully. You made the right call on the PDK.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 12:46 pm

Lisa got a flat yesterday in her C-Max while on a bridge on I-95. At night. In the freezing cold. With cars whizzing by at 70 MPH.
AAA came and towed it. Tow truck guy was amazed that there wasn't a spare in it. It's a fucking Ford not a BMW/Benz/whatever, and it does not have run flat tires.
Oh well, tow was free, needs a new tire which is expensive but whatever I guess. I felt like I couldn't help her though.

Yeah, I can't get over the push to lighten everything and remove all spares, even without runflats.
Then again, I really think that the majority of people on the road today wouldn't know how, or know anyone that knows how to change a tire.... So I guess this actually makes sense for the masses. Just keep them armed with a phone and a roadside assistance subscription.
When I bought the 911 the sales dude was showing me everything, including the bottle of goop in the trunk ($180 to replace, WTF??) and said "You don't ever want to use this, just call Porsche and get a flatbed." It makes sense on this car, especially since it has centerlock wheels that need to be torqued by the hand of God to make them safe, so I wouldn't want to have some kid at Discount Tire messing with the wheels... let alone scratching them trying to torque the center lock.''
But on a fucking C-Maxx? That thing should have two donut spares in it.

That’s some scary shit. Glad she made it out ok. What happened with the old tire ? It just popped on the bridge ? Spare or not I wouldn’t touch it on a bridge ... that’s a death sentence. I’d probably roll and destroy the tire until the first off ramp.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 11:50 am Lisa got a flat yesterday in her C-Max while on a bridge on I-95. At night. That's partly why I felt I couldn't help her. Would rather her sit in the car and wait for tow dude with his 13k lb truck with blindingly bright flashing yellow lights to help her out. But if she did get a flat and was in the hood or something, what just sit there scared white girl on her phone in her broken down hybrid? I wouldn't be able to help there either.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 11:57 amThat’s some scary shit. Glad she made it out ok. What happened with the old tire ? It just popped on the bridge ? Tire was flat as fuck. Sidewall was worn down pretty hard too, she drove halfway over the bridge to get off it and onto a safe large shoulder. Doubt she'd have made it to the next exit with the tire still intact on the rim. But I don't know what caused the flat in the first place.

Even as recently as this summer, these guys were having Hollywood style parties for any team building reasons you could think of, meanwhile back at their production facility they were banging together sheet metal to make it all fit with no regard to improving their part stamping. This is no surprise as creditors become less forgiving to Tesla. 2019 is the appropriate year to tighten up their spending wherever possible... hopefully they use some extra funding to clean up their existing product line up before they go nuts on new projects.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 11:04 pmJust found this: http://www.thedrive.com/news/26062/read ... of-layoffs
The fit up of the model three showcased here last month was nasty. Sure the paint application sucks and transportation probably damaged their product during shipping, but there is no excuse for those panel fit ups. And i personally know that they are fixing the majority of their product after its built.
They are extremely versatile, coming up with the next thing is , but people want quality especially at that price tag.

Weight savings, which is critical in a hybrid. Our Volt didn't come with a spare either. I ended up buying one, and I throw it in the back when we go on trips.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 11:46 pmUn fucking believable, No spare? on a Fraud??
