Chatted with the other Bank this morning, and since they can't "recruit" me I just need to apply online. Then they will take it from there. Seems so far, but the commute would be a biatch to either of the corporate offices that I know of.

Dude on my team put in his two week's notice last week.. CEO just announced that they're going to back-fill his spot with an "entry level quote specialist". They're trying to fill his spot with a less experienced person so they can pay them less, even though they haven't hired anyone to fill the gap left by my boss when he left months ago. They keep cutting corners like this and shoveling more work onto those of us who are still here, but that's not sustainable.

I'm fairly confident that when you leave the military and apply what you know in the private sector you can make quite a bit more.Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 3:52 pm Current income 50k. Guess im not doing terribly for someone with a highschool education.
Smart guys that have military experience beyond holding a rifle actually command a good salary. I believe that part of it is that they are used to the chain of command and know how to give and take orders to get a job done.

Take that .mil pension and enjoy getting first consideration, top honors, and the benefit of any doubt for everything you ever do for the rest of your life from everyone - law enforcement, employers, insurers, doctors, everyone bends over backwards for veterans. Everyone except for legislators, that is...

Today was interesting. Since it was 29 degrees out, i went to gym with my eddie bauer winter jacket, and just had a t-shirt under it. As i left, it felt hot with the jacket, so i walked to my car with just the shirt, and did not freeze at all. Still turned out it was 35 degrees

Today is dragging. Raining hard outside.. getting home is gonna be a bitch. Traffic is already showing at 32 minutes for the 14 miles to the gym. I'll bet that doubles in the next hour and is even worse by the time I leave a little after 430.
