Good citizens of DFDland.
Do you even hot sauce bro? I must admit. I am not a person that seeks pain in food. But lately I've had the desire to tread deeper into spicy food.
You could say I'm pretty basic bitch in terms of heat but I also have a different perspective than maybe that of a white bread mid Westerner. I get cajun heat. I use a good vinegar hot sauce in my red beans, like any good soul from Louisiana.
I don't venture into extremes. My limit seems to stop at the habenero level. I have zero interest in ghost pepper things. I love growing my own peppers like chili and pablanos. I'm looking into new sauces and think of myself as the sauce boss.
Let's get into some heat!
Recently ordered the Truff sauce like a good millennial. It's interesting. Huge truffle flavor.

Tabasco smoked Chipotle is the nectar of the gods.

I agree the tabasco chipotle is better than regular tabasco. We have some decent local sauces.
I like cooking with Louisiana Gold. Will have to get some more.

You’ll have to order it online, it’s from a real small place on the jersey shore, never seen it in stores outside of NJ.dubshow wrote:Will have to seek out hanks.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 9:24 am Hank's is amazing.

It’s so good though. The standard one is definitely a flavor hot sauce, rather than lots of heat.

Tabasco is a no-go for me. If I swore, or used a word my mom didn't like as a kid, my punishments alternated between actually having to scrub my tongue with a bar of soap and then stick it out for her to inspect and made sure I covered it all, or her holding my tongue out and pouring Tabasco on it.
thats fucking terrible reasons for disliking it.SAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 11:47 am Tabasco is a no-go for me. Currently obsessed with this smokin' habanero hot sauce, made in my hometown. I go through about a bottle a month. https://www.silagysauce.com/

Sucks shipping is so much on the Hank's stuff. $11 shipping if you buy 4 bottles. Gonna check Amazon to see if they offer it with Prime shipping on there.
EDIT: they do.
SECOND EDIT: You pay $10/bottle on Amazon instead of $6 per bottle on Hank's site so the free shipping is negated, and then some

Nope checked their site for that too. Some small town up by Yosemite, and then South Tahoe. That's all they have for best coasters.haleyann wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 12:44 pmwhat a rip-off! is it offered anywhere locally?SAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 12:22 pm Sucks shipping is so much on the Hank's stuff. $11 shipping if you buy 4 bottles. Oh boy I have a lot of hot sauce.
Everyday sauce: Texas Pete and sometimes classic Tobasco
I love habanero sauce, but my favorite is Hoboken Eddie F/N Hot https://www.amazon.com/F-N-Hot/dp/B013TDB1X4
Other Habanero: El Yucateco, Marie Sharps, and Melinda's
Favorite Serrano is Yellowbird
