I would do that if you can't find a take-off. People always upgrade their bumpers, I'm sure with patience one will pop up.

You'll have to pardon my lack of accessory knowledge, but what does the tubular bar attached to the top of the bumper supposed to do?

Yeah, I don't see a lot of function there.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:38 pmLook cool.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:36 pm

No, but really it's intended to push brush/branches out of the way. It's "frontal protection" which only kind of works in this case.

Also, sauce...notice the bumps on the front of the bumper below the headlights on the OEM and AEV bumpers...those are crush cans that help maintain airbag function.

Yeah I was just reading that on the AEV site. Their bumper looks nice for sure. I'll probably wind up with that or finding a take off Rubicon/Hard Rock bumper if I can.
I just don't want to be rolling around with my ghetto crushed bumper corner for too long. I wonder if I can just pull those off and have a DIY "stubby" bumper...

Lose my fog lights, but I like when lights are mounted up on that bullbar, so I'd probably do that and use the OE fog light wiring for them.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:51 pmThat's the old Mopar one...5/7 would go that route for the price.SAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:50 pm OEM, metal, inexpensive..

just text him. I'll try to stop by and see it tonight. If it's in good condition I'll see if he'll take $350 for it. Hoping he comes down, but I'll pay the full $400 if I have to.

There is your answer, or you could just pop out the plastic one andSAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:50 pm OEM, metal, inexpensive..

Pay close attention to the paint. Looks like it MIGHT be a bit faded, you could use that as leverage as long as you're ok with the way it looks.

Yeah I'm actually planning on popping out the plastic one tonight and just running like that until I do replace it.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:57 pmThere is your answer, or you could just pop out the plastic one andSAWCE wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:50 pm OEM, metal, inexpensive..

Yeah that’s why I was thinking a nice powder coat finish. I mean, if I get it for $300-350. Another $150-200 for the powder coat still leaves me under the cost of most brand new bumpers..

I'd spring to have it powder coated. It would need to be sandblasted before that happens tho.
