That's what I do now...unless I'm in the middle of nowhere like I was with my Gladiator. Then I need to fill up a little sooner even.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:00 pmHuckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 2:57 pm
I hate that shit. Don't tell me LOW when I'm looking at the range. I know it is low. Give me a fucking number so I can keep track.
Or just don't run it below 1/4 tank.![]()

They are dirty, people are always assholes at gas stations, occasional beggars. They cost money?
I get 0 reward for being there, it is a chore like taking out the trash. I don't understand the "love" for the gas station. I hate them.

So I am going to have a minimum wage asshole stand there, and if it clicks off early, which it does 50% of the time... ask him to do it again etc, then spill gas on the side of the car+ wipe it up with paper towels, its especially nice because its above unpainted wheel arches.

You get a full tank of fuel. Or you can start buying from a distributor in bulk and never step in another station again.

FUCK that.

I'm fortunate that I don't have to buy gas in cities so it's an overall uneventful experience.

I have to agree with Max on the concerns with letting others fill your gas. My Colorado and Corvette were SUPER tricky with getting it full...I'd expect most random people wouldn't take the time to fill it all the way. Same with making sure gas doesn't spill/drip on the paint.
I like doing it myself, and I know the stations I like to go to, so it's easy.

I like supporting business like that. The gas station around the corner from me charges a fortune for gas, unfortunately...but I buy their booze and they have a frozen yogurt shop that's 5/7.

It's usually fine, but on occasion it isn't. but i am there 2x a week, that's often enough so occasionally shit happens. 1/100 is still 1x a year that there is some kind ofDetroit wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:35 pmmax225 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:33 pm

Yesterday, I had some derp block the entrance out of a gas station. Because he was more important than anyone else... 20/30% of the time someone doesn't pull forward so you have to wait for them to be done with their useless existence and then pump... then they get back in the car and just fucking sit there, like the useless bags like they are.

Given my tiny tank that would mean a quicker than anticipated return trip. I also have a problem with people doing shit for me that I can do myself.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:39 pmI have to agree with Max on the concerns with letting others fill your gas. I bought a Passport Max 360 that seems to be working a lot better than my 9500ix. Perhaps people could just drive their cars? Adjust speeds for traffic? Check blind spots? Look over their shoulder? Be aware of their surroundings? Not be texting their 3 girlfriends whilst Instagramming and sending a tweet? Having a basic sense of competency and accountability?CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 1:01 pmTime for a new Radar detector.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 12:02 pm
Your gaydar cruise sends falses to my RD. Turn that shit off.
My V1's consistently false on the gaydar, but my new Uniden R7 does not. The Uniden is pretty damned awesome too, user upgradeable firmware and directional arrows like the V1.

I’ve had one issue with them not filling the tank or spilling fuel on the side in 18 years of full-service station use.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:39 pmI have to agree with Max on the concerns with letting others fill your gas. Whenever it clicks off “early” when I say full it is because I’m usually filling before it’s less than half a tank they ask me if that’s it or does it need more. They expected it to take more and asked.

It depends where are weeks of 2 fill ups and weeks of 1. Overall it closer to 2 than 1.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:45 pm2x a week? You're driving over 30k miles/year?max225 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 3:43 pm

260 mile range (my average fill up) *104 = 27040 miles...so yea... it's somewhere between 1.5-2
