Lackluster but reliable, and the competition wasn't necessarily any better.

But that I5 was a weak suck (the super rare 5.3 trucks were awesome), the interiors were a joke, and the styling was pretty meh. Compared to the Tacoma, it was hardly competitive.

It seems that it overtook the ranger and was only slightly behind the taco in sales...
I’m seriously really tempted by the h3. It is nearly perfect for what I want to do... the main issue is stigma out here. It is terribad

It did fine for sales, but didn't do much to advance the brand.
The H3 would be epic. I've wanted that spec for a while. If you buy it, I'll buy it from you at the price you paid. That thing would be awesome out there.

That’s really tempting if real... part of my concern is future resale. BTW how is that 4l60 trans ? Does it hold up ?

5.3 and 4L60 is about as bulletproof as you can get. Same combo that was in fullsize trucks. Those things were built for durability as #1.
At 100k miles though, I'd want to make sure it was at least serviced. Fluid change or whatever.
Assuming that truck spent its whole life in CA and has no rust, that thing would sell easy in Michigan for way more than that. I'd seriously buy it from you and bring it back here.

New Ram split tailgate is pretty sweet, doe.
I do like the split tailgate. Seems moar useful than the origami on the GMC.

Ram split tail is apparently engineered to handle a pallet/2k lbs of weight.
I'm very on the GMC tailgate. The Ramgate solves issues in a much simpler, likely more durable manner.

Them and everyone else.
At least they issue recalls and fix their shit. Unlike GM, who is still trying to convince the government that their Takata airbags are different from everyone else's Takata airbags.

Two brand new trucks going toe to toe, in the past Chevys sell far better than Ram due to the diehard loyalists. Ram buyers are coming from somewhere...they don' t have the same loyalty base as Ferd or Chebby.

I think in the past Chevy sold better because better product... also s matter. I wonder how the ASPs compare for equal trims...

Well, it looks like incentives are indeed higher on the Ram, which is driving some volume for sure. I can't imagine ATPs are near equal.
But historically, 90% of pickup buyers are loyalists. Going after the 10% that DGAF has been the game. But I suspect that might be changing a bit for Chevy as the Ram seems to be such a great product.

Yea the delta seems far greater than 10%... unless you take that 10% each from Fraud and Chebby... and voila...Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 1:47 pmWell, it looks like incentives are indeed higher on the Ram, which is driving some volume for sure. I can't imagine ATPs are near equal.

I hate how frauds adds up their sales... "F series" is super annoying. Nothing in common between a F150 work truck and a F350 dually king ranch.

But I think that's shifting a bit too with Ram right now. The dynamics in the segment are very different now. Going to be quite going forward.
