Most of you have seen already but my plates came in for the S4. I'm keeping the "Beater" legacy alive.

What's the cost?
$30/year. I don't care about the cost... just kind of feel like a douche with the plate as I've gotten older
Yea, I hear ya. I don't care for personalized plates in general. It has to be superbly cleaver and something easy to "get" for me to be into it.

In Michigan, BMW M cars and Teslas are somewhat rare. So whenever you see one, it almost always has a personalized plate proclaiming what the car is. "M5" on an M5, "BMW M" on an M3, etc. Everytime I see it I![]()

I give enough to the state for registration, I don't need to give them more money for a plate that doesn't cost them anything more. It's just a money grab which isD Griff wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 3:49 pmDetroit wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 3:45 pm

I might get an Appalachian Trail or Smokey Mountains one or something. Or maybe just get a standard.
I'm dumping the one on the JL when we move to Nevada. Not going to bother with them. Here I just kept it to piss off the anti's. I've had it since 2003 or whenever the #NEVERFORGET plates came out.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 3:45 pmYea, I hear ya. I don't care for personalized plates in general. Dang that’s not goodTarspin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 8:41 am I need to call the dealership about yet another repair to the Golf R which is hopefully covered under extended warranty.
Since the factory warranty expired, the following issues have come up:
-gas tank sensor failure
-fuel rail temp sensor harness
And now the e-parking brake solenoid fault... it works okay but comes up with an error on the dash. This will be interesting to follow since I'm convinced that VW is building things to last till just outside of the typical warranty period. Still, the car has been dealer maintained and generally well cared for.
I'm covered with a small deductible of $100 per fix and I can ride that out for an additional 2.5 yrs and 95k kms. I may plan to sell the car after that coverage expires, but I'mmax225 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 9:56 amDang that’s not goodTarspin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 8:41 am I need to call the dealership about yet another repair to the Golf R which is hopefully covered under extended warranty.

Yea that nitty gritty tiny issue every few months is annoying AF and is the main reason I’m avoiding range rovers ... that’s the main issue with thoseTarspin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 10:35 amI'm covered with a small deductible of $100 per fix and I can ride that out for an additional 2.5 yrs and 95k kms. How does VW expect custies to keep buying their products if they come up with a plethora of fault codes from every sensor, solenoid and cable harness out of warranty?

I can’t see them being worth $100k. Interior is way too shitty for that. It’s not even really all that acceptable at the base price even.Tarspin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 6:49 am I stared at freshly minted wide body Charger 392s and Hellcats last night and the want is real. They look pretty darn cool. 100k+is straight ass
for me. Then I spent some time looking at used wide body LD/LC products and I can't afford that either....by the time I found something ok in my budget i was at SXT trim,

Thanks man, they have been pretty decent about getting everything covered under the plan they sold me. I'm not a fan of three issues in the last 10k but I'm starting to think that extra warranty coverage was the best thing I could have done for my present day self. Next car brand will likely be non-German if this turns into a shit show.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 1:09 pmTarspin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 8:41 am I need to call the dealership about yet another repair to the Golf R which is hopefully covered under extended warranty.
