This would be a 10 year purchase.

Man, that new Camry in a real color looks way better than it should. I think that would be a legit purchase.

I've always wanted one of these, and this just popped up literally walking distance from me. Seems

They look awesome but are they actually any good to drive? I thought the 5 series had steering until 2005.Detroit wrote:https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 944096500/

Dunno. I've just always liked the way the e34 looked, and with a V8 and , it just seems like a neat thing.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 1:19 pmThey look awesome but are they actually any good to drive? Thoughts on the car I posted?

Obviously needs paint, but the no rust and modest mileage for the age has me intrigued. Plus V8

The 1995 model year had the Nikusil engines (cylinder sleeves) that may implode with US gas... if it hasn't already.
Also BMWs that old require a ton of work... unless someone has spent double the asking price maintaining the car with PROOF, i wouldn't touch it... and I am talking 6k in maintenance in 2 years. Not over the life of the vehicle.

Yes the engine was "replaced" with something 100k miles ago. No idea with what or how.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:24 pmDid you read the ad?max225 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:19 pm The 1995 model year had the Nikusil engines (cylinder sleeves) that may implode with US gas... if it hasn't already.

To me, unless it's an E39 M5 or an E90/92 M3, BMWs deserve to have an inline 6, even if it's slower. Even when I watch videos of those two I just get this feeling that it somehow isn't a proper BMW. The inline 6 is the experience I want out of a BMW, anything else just feels . I'd rock TF out of an E39 530i with the sport package and a 6 speed , doe.

You only get the sixth gear with the V8. 530is are 5 speeds.coogles wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:28 pm To me, unless it's an E39 M5 or an E90/92 M3, BMWs deserve to have an inline 6, even if it's slower. So a BMW can only have a V8 if its going to explode?coogles wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:28 pm To me, unless it's an E39 M5 or an E90/92 M3, BMWs deserve to have an inline 6, even if it's slower. Probably right, I don't think the 6 speed hit the E46s until the 2004 model year, so that'd be after the end of the E39s.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:29 pmYou only get the sixth gear with the V8. 530is are 5 speeds.coogles wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:28 pm To me, unless it's an E39 M5 or an E90/92 M3, BMWs deserve to have an inline 6, even if it's slower. And the E34 540 came with a V8 before the e39 and e90...kind of the beginning of that TBH.

Can only have a V8 if that's the only way it comes, I think. At least that's my logic. It's like buying anything in convertible form. You can't buy a Mustang convertible because a coupe is available. You can buy a Miata because that's the only way it's offered...sort of. S2000 works. Boxster is borderline, bub. To all you Porsche PR folk - we all know what the Cayman really is, you fucks.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:30 pmSo a BMW can only have a V8 if its going to explode?coogles wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:28 pm To me, unless it's an E39 M5 or an E90/92 M3, BMWs deserve to have an inline 6, even if it's slower. BMW can't make a V8 for shit. Nikasil first, timing chains after and then Valve seals from 2008>now. Depends...I loved working on my e30 because of how simple it was put together. This is nearly the same vintage, I suspect it would be a fun thing to wrench on here and there and bring back to some form of glory.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:19 pm The 1995 model year had the Nikusil engines (cylinder sleeves) that may implode with US gas... if it hasn't already.

Any project is a money loser, you do it because it's something called "fun".
If the engine dies, it seems like a prime candidate for
