Greater tongue weight rating for trailering, better at towing in general. Deal was right, price was right, so he went for it.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 1:29 pm So you got a Z71? What is the difference between that and the bro forks?

What's he going to tow though? Have I missed the purchase of a boat or travel trailer? Or is he towing his Miata?Johnny_P wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 1:55 pmGreater tongue weight rating for trailering, better at towing in general. But, driving back to back... man the Colorado is a true machine. I got 21 MPG driving back home from the and to work. I would've gotten about 17-18 in the Forks. Small gain, but noticeable over longer trips.
Deal was ideal, too. I essentially got a $39k truck for $32k. Traded mine in for $23k which was about $2k less than I wanted, but the market really wouldn't support any more.
Additionally, the Forks was due for all the fluids, had a rear diff leak, had a valvecover seeping, had one tire dryrotting and one tire had a cut in the sidewall, so at least 2 tires would've been needed, too. I just wasn't feeling like stepping foot in another Nissan dealership after my last runaround, and I really wanted to support Dplac.
I'm satisfied. This will tow the better, get better empeegeez, has all the latest tech (Carplay is fucking man), my base payment went down, and I start the warranty and maintenance game over again. All I paid out of pocket was taxes and tags and fees (about $1k).
It was all about the - I got to flip into a newer truck than I would have if I leased one.

I don't really see me getting rid of the Miata for a long while unless it's to get out of fun cars entirely and focus my attention on another hobby.

This according to you and your money/value philosophy on any decision in life, cannot be anything more than money. Money money money. Cost cost cost. Incessant focus on value, or LACK of value. Driven and OWNED by YOU LOL You have trained us. Live it and own it. You have instilled this in all of us!!

Got it.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 3:12 pmI'll likely rent one for now for the few times I need it. I use the truck on a regular basis, I wouldn't use a trailer on a regular basis.
