Honestly this sounds a bit sus. I have had dentists in the past that would find "cavities" every visit... Deep cleaning is another thing they keep pushing...
Nah man they gauged the depth of my gums and it’s kinda bad. Lots of “7’s” indicating bone loss under my gums.
Great thing is this is incurable and I’ll need intense cleaning every 3 months for life.
They had to use cadaver bone in my mouth, that's common.

Wow, that is bad.
My wife, after several years of

not going to a dentist for reasons, finally went a year or so ago and also had lots of very high numbers, though she refused to tell me exactly what they were. After a lot of work, including a root canal and an implant, and a few deep cleaning sessions every 3 months or so, her last checkup on Monday yielded only 1 "4", the rest being 1s through 3's, and she can now go back to regular six month cleanings.
Maybe there's hope for you?

Sorry about toof John, I had to have one pulled about a month and a half ago, not fun shit. waiting to heal for implant. at least it's a back one.
Haven’t listened to them since Morning View or whatever that album was. Could see them putting on a cool live show though.

I only get 1 4, and it's always in the same place so the hygienist finally concluded that that's just my normal for that particular spot and

about it so I don't either.

My mom's whole family, and recently myself was diagnosed with the same thing. 3mo schedule for me too. I don't know what my readings were but I do know my dental coverage is very good so maybe they want to see me more.

Damn. Sorry dude, that blows. Hope they can save your tooth.
Is it worth getting a second opinion?
Tots and pears.
For the tooth yes it would make sense to get another opinion. But the disease is either you have it or not. I can potentially keep it from getting worse but it does irreversible damage and I’ll have to live with it forever.
First my overall sympathy for real. I have ugly bottom teeth but I floss twice a day, spend four minutes of every day with a sonicare morning and evening and use nasty listerine original twice a day. How do you roll?

That sucks man, but it's not the end of the world. I have an implant and a fake tooth.
I’m taking solace in the fact that one of my friends is a very well renowned dental implant specialist. Likely the best in the Philly area. So maybe he can make some time to explain the situation and options to me a bit more clearly.

Sorry to hear about the dental woes, John.
I need to schedule a cleaning, haven’t put in the effort to find a new dentist since changing jobs in December.

I was admittedly bad with flossing. But have a sonicare toothbrush.
New method at least initially is flossing / brushing / mouthwash after any meal or food. Then in morning and evening using a waterpik, then sonicare, then mouthwash. This may get adjusted as my dentist tracks my progress.
Will see if that helps any.
I made an appointment for the problematic tooth with an endodontist. If I need implants I’ll see my friend about it. I would just transfer care to his team but they’re an hour away.

I went 2 years without seeing a dentist. Stupid me. Dunno if that would have saved me though. They said it’s at least somewhat attributed to the positioning of my teeth and strongly suggested ortho work just from a hygiene perspective.

I am one lucky son-of-a-bitch and was born with fairly straight teeth and no wisdom teeth. My wife is even luckier - she did have braces but outside of that, never even a cavity. When we met she had never seen a dentist as an adult, had probably been five times in 27 years. She doesn't floss... never even a single cavity.
She is an anomaly in general though, only person in her immediate family that isn't an addict, only one that isn't a hillbilly confederate flag flier, etc.

My wife doesn't either. Perfect, smooth straight teeth that seemingly shed errthang. My dentist says I have strong teeth, but crowding on the bottom makes me an avid flosser. Also, courtesy of wearing a mouthguard to prevent snoring, I now have this "food pocket" that will store a little snack for me, particularly any shredded meat. I now run toothpicks all the time. Getting old, yay.

This is my routine, but I’m trying to add in a waterpik as well. Been hard to get in the habit of using it.

Yeah, well, they knew this. It was an amazing album in a time when you listened to the whole album.
So...they re-imagined it, and re-recorded it for the 25th anniversary. Yes, we are old. Its also great, but I do like some of the OG tracks better. But some of the new ones are better.
Man, I waffled on going or not, it was in Nashville not not too far but not exactly close. Ended up getting soft commits and bought three tickets (and parking). Then the bails came. whatever. My wife soldiered up and came along. She (rightly) Insisted we get a hotel next door to the venue, that was more than the tickets! Then, parking was in east Egypt so i just parked (for less money, annoyingly) at the hotel in the UG garage.
So the tally was one wasted parking, one wasted ticket, spensive af hotel. Not including the taking of PTO, tix+hotel+gas+2 bever stops+food, which was minimal honestly, this was... a very expensive weekday concert outing.
Was it worth it?
So the whole idea of this show was they were going to play Morning View "in its entirety" + the hits. Now we allll know what that can mean, mixing up the songs, maybe some yapping on about them in between, who knows, but whatever.
But, they just came out and did the thing. They played the whole album, track one to track thirteen, in order, start to finish, with nothing other than a "thank you" in between songs. I mean, LITERLY, save for saying "didn't expect that response" after the acustic blood on the ground, perhaps because cheering was a bit lackluster.. That was the literal only words spoken in between the music. That acoustic rendition of 'blood on the ground' that...I liked? But i'd have like to have had that as a b-side on the record and heard the real song live (again. this is afterall my 6th time seeing them) But yea, after that they played some of their other various hits of the 90's/2000's like drive, make yourself, paron me, stellar, The Warmth, megalomanic, etc. NONE of the new shit off 'if not now. when' which was ok but def not the morning view/make yourself vibe we all love.
Anyway, I had a great time. the wife had a great time, and it was totes worth it if you are a fan, and esp if you are a fan of the morning view album. They will be in Seattle on July 15th boss, get you some 200 level tickets and
GO.

That’s fucking awesome. A few of the bands I listen to have been doing the whole reimagined album thing too, and I feel the same way.. some of the new takes are great, some I prefer the original.
The anniversary tours are great. Especially when they play the album front to back. I saw Brand New recently, they did a 2.25 hour set with no opening band and it was fucking awesome.
