That's not a bad idea, and i'll do a stage 1 on that 1.8tmaxtdi wrote:Or you could get a golf Sportwagen for 10k lessfledonfoot wrote:
I'd do it. I want 6MT AWD as my next car, so I'm basically golf R, WRX/STI or something like this.
Seeing as I like low car insurance payments, a Countryman would be ideal.
I really was underwhelmed by the Clubman we had as a loaner last week.

[user not found], how bad is the OEM R56 roof rack install? I was looking at my roof today and I think that's probably the best/safest way to go. Oddly enough also cheaper than getting feet/fit kit for a Thule setup.[user not found] wrote:Apex wrote:
We need to get a spirited Bucks County run going.
Probably gonna get too cold after this weekend, though.
Plus, looks like the OEM setup is rated for 160ish pounds so I could find a way to toss some tires up there for track days in the future.

What do you need for the Thule rack? The rubber pad or the whole tower thing?

The whole tower thing with fit kit. New it's $300 for the tower and fit kit.fledonfoot wrote:What do you need for the Thule rack? The rubber pad or the whole tower thing?
I just happen to have a spare set of crossbars for Thule, along with 2 bike trays already.

I might as well sell you an entire garage. I have the towers, too.

Mines coming off lease soon. Or sooner if the price is right.

$28k for a 2 year old truck with decent content and less than 20k miles. If ZR2 wasn't a thing, I'd consider buying it.Apex wrote:Oh right, you're on a 2 year lease.Detroit wrote: Just broke 7k miles in 11mo. Might only have 15k when it goes back.
