If you can’t do a hitch on Hype R, what about a roof rack? Do civics have those flip up panels on the roof to screw in a rack or would it be a clamp type mount?

Drive it for :science: at least. Even though it is riced out you'll still be able to tell if you want one or not.
I think at this point I'm either: :hibachi: keeping the Supra or the contenders would be STI, Civic Si, Slanty H N, Golf R or GTI.

The new WRX was tempting but I think the interior with that vertical iPad is just too :disgust: for me. Type R/S are just kind of expensive/not NFG enough and the no trailer hitch piece is kind of a :nope: The Euro stuff is tempting but I don't really want to fuck with maintenance.

This seems decent for what it is. And if one was to keep the miles under 50k it will lose near $0 in the future given where it is today.

FLO-RIDAH :dillerman: tend to have the most :bs: fees in the nation with like $1000 doc fees + prep fees etc... gotta be careful. Place is the epitome of SHIT :dillerman:

You can fold the seats in the back and put the bike in the back like a sane person.

We’ve been through this debate with my :gorf:

Putting a filthy mountain bike in the back is the :wrong: answer. Even in the off chance that it does fit.

Road bike is one thing, gravel or mountain bike is another.

Savagegeese did a recent video on the tS and they were pretty happy with it. Didn't realize how pricy it is :doe:

I no longer dislike the exterior. When Doug said you could get a 1-2 year old one for $21k I was interested. That example was a clapped out s box though, good ones are as much as an STI.

PITA, gets interior dirty, bangs up interior, no room for the family of I do that, just not a great answer. I ride a lot and it’s one of the main uses I have a car for, I don’t need a car for much…

Roof rack is ok but definitely worse: loud, kills MPG, harder to load bikes, have to then buy another mounting system and store both since Jeep uses the hitch rack.

I’ve done all of these - roof, in car, hitch… hitch is just waaay better.

I don’t love the looks in person. They did come in orange though. Probably pretty fun and the motor is probably better for DD duty.

Roof racks are so expensive. I’m looking for used ones and it’s still insanity. But I don’t want to add 2 feet to the back of my car with a hitch rack so here we are.

Anywhere I drive to bike tends to have plenty of space for parking. But that certainly can be a downside depending on where you’re going.

If I’m heading to downtown Charlotte I’m 100% biking as it’s free and not a PITA, so I don’t really parallel park often.

I parallel park quite a bit, but I commute way more often than you do. I go into a lot of tight dense urban areas. I bike when I have the time, but most of the time I have places to be or I need to travel 40 miles in the other direction. I personally think the roof rack looks way cooler, but I wouldnt want to load a bike on that. Roof racks are for yaks! I rode my bike to a closing off montford today and the attorneys mind was blown. I asked him to install some bike racks so I didn’t have to park my ride in the waiting room.

I think the WRX is the best option out of what you’ve listed. I kinda fux with it. I’ve looked at those in the past and they look wicked fun. I envisioned taking it to the gravel sections of the blue ridge parkway and ripping it up. Remind us to tell you this weekend about how Maxx, dom, and I took my sisters neon drifting on the parkway and I had to change her pads out in an auto zone parking lot the next morning

I agree that roof racks look dope! But they're not really all that practical for bikes. I had one on my Shitvic back in the day. They're kind of the option for yaks, so I'd do one for that if needed for sure.

:dat: Neon, :doe: I'm surprised she didn't rock a C4!

Yeah 700 for just the cross bars and tower mounts. The actual tray to hold the bike is more. Like bruh my bike is worth about $1100 now lol the rack would be as expensive as the bike.

I'm just having a bit of fun with the bicicletas thread I follow silently. The bike bros are willing to talk about some items that seem pretty pricey for something that is not powered by internal combustion.

Yeah $1100 is trash.

Bikes depreciate a lot... I have a shed full of bikes that I have maybe $13-14K into, probably worth a total of half or less.
