IMO middle class means:
Being able to raise a family of 3 kids in a safe city.
Own an average house
Have retirement account and savings
Go on occasional vacations with the family
Have no real debt outside of mortgage

Like I’m pretty solidly middle class but really getting pinched lately as inflation has been out of control and wages aren’t rising to compensate.

Those three statements show just how low an information voter you are. I hope its ignorance of facts due to mainlining the MSM rather than willful stupidity.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:52 pm(for example pardoning violent protestors on the capitol, the whole claiming the 2020 election was faked thing, being a felon himself)golftdibrad1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 12:40 pm
you say that becasue you've been told it.
What Trump's administration is doing looks a whole fucking lot like Libertarianism to me, or at least what a Libertarian president would do upon getting elected - at least a Ron Paul one.

Has the muh Russia collusion lost its luster? Hooker piss tapes? J6? These are the core Dem talking points that have legit evidence of massive fuckery and outright fabrication. You can repeat them all you want but the more you look into it, the more democrat party fraud you find.
High level: overly broad sweep of .gov throwing the metaphorical book and making a political example of many. Political pearl clutching event. Democracy (our Republic) was not at stake.
Facts:
a few (10s or 20s) bad actors incited mob behavior.
People were arrested that were not there.
The FBI was involved to some level at ramping up this event. (Internal gov bad actors) I'd love to know more. We never will .
Innocent bystanders were overly prosecuted.
Everyone disregards the climate/tension that launched J6 and previous DC/city riots.
Trump over played his election fraud rally cry.
The Dems over played their J6 ENDING the Republic.
The election data for 2020 doesn't add up statically. But it can never be questioned and that's absurd. The courts ruled fraud was present "but not significant enough to change the results" and that is bullshit. Until we get our elections secured and results delivered timely, these events will continue to happen. States need uniform voting requirements and a secure way to conduct them.
Weaponizing the judicial branch for executive political plays will have profound impacts. Growing worse each year.
If people chose to whole ignore the growing fraud and abuse of elections, well, we won't have a common ground.

Trump is a rich dude with a rich dad, who for some reason many dumb poor people worship as do some really rich people. He is the world's greatest sales guy and he's been able to amass a huge following as such. He has blatant disregard for the law (for example pardoning violent protestors on the capitol, the whole claiming the 2020 election was faked thing, being a felon himself) and believes he can go forth unchecked and do whatever the hell he wants and make rules for whoever he wants. If that isn't a dictator, what is?
I believe that there are plenty of people, departments, and initiatives that need to be made more efficient or even eliminated. Like any job, people need to be accountable in the government (and I believe many, hopefully most but I don't know that, are currently).
But if you're in the 'run the gov like a business' camp... well, what business would be made better by scaring all of the employees, firing many who you know nothing about nor what they do, and incentivizing all of them to stop giving a fuck about their jobs?

Additional fact: J6 attendees are clearly biased to having multiple firearms, yet almost none were present (by other than LEOs) in compliance with local laws.dubshow wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 2:00 pm

corollary to this fact: If they wanted real violence, they could have had it. Yet the only person that died was unarmed and shot by a LEO as he irresponsibly fired into a crowd.
Additional fact: Dem leadershit denied requests for additional security that day, despite knowing the PERMITED rally was happening.

Well. There is a lot of shit to it and I was humoring a phone response. I dont think you should disregard all the evidence of fuckery if you want to hold an opinion on any of the topics I initially listed.

Can we all agree that she is the hottest thing in Congress

That's also an extremely low bar, generally speaking.
