Not surprised even Hendrick turned you down, although if they didn't we could tour the private heritage center while you wait since it's right Infront of the campus. They might not even have a process or book time estimate to give you, and they assume you're like most people who want to know when, how much, and how quickly it will be done all over the phone.
Yeah, I thought about trying to take you up on your offer of taking it in for me. I could just have them do the diffs, tranny, brake fluid, coolant, just outsource it allCaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 12:09 pm Not surprised even Hendrick turned you down, although if they didn't we could tour the private heritage center while you wait since it's right Infront of the campus. Seems like he's not going to call me back though

You know what would look even better? If they didn't have them as separate pieces to begin with. The whole styling decision on those is bizarre.

The awkward styling, auto only, and the fact it just doesn't sound that great unless Z06?ChrisoftheNorth wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 6:02 pmI can afford one and I don't want one. There's just something about it that leaves me flat.
Speaking of sound, Walmart had OBX header sets for very cheap so I got a catted set.

We use the ZF 8 in the E3 19+ Cayenne. Service interval book goes up to 12 years/120k and has no required service, drain and fill, or flush.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 9:36 am Kind of at an impasse with this tranny fluid change in the![]()
Themodel strikes again. One dealer said that they won't do it. One said this 'starts at $399 for transmission service' but refuses to give an actual quote (surely $399 is for a regular 'ol drain and fill gig on a non ZF8). This is after multiple calls in with no answer, VMs left, no return call.
I just talked with Cale's group now, they said they're pretty sure it's sealed for life but will call me back![]()
I'm hesitant to just go to some mom/pop place.I just don't really trust people that much. Not that this is rocket science, but if I'm not willing to do it, I doubt they're really any more able than I. Like, they could just not change it and charge me OR could not torque correctly, under/over fill, you name it, and they the car is fucked.
I think maybe I'll just do the diffs, brake fluid, spark plugs, and coolant at home and call it a day. Reassess the tranny sitch in a couple of years if we still own the car.
55K miles as it sits. It's quite interesting that the manual basically says never change anything but the oil unless you're towing or doing taxi/police work.
I’ve replaced one transmission only, car was towed in from an Indy shop that referenced the previous gen car needing fluid at 120k, and promptly fucking it up and using the wrong fluid because their documentation only went to 2018 and didn’t think there was much difference.

Headers are

Slap some nice heads and modest cam in that bitch and blast off into the sunset!
This is super helpful from an actual pro such as yourself. That’s kinda my fear… yeah, it’s not that hard. Still, seems an easy job for a shop to fuck up and do more harm than good on something that they say isn’t needed.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 7:45 pmWe use the ZF 8 in the E3 19+ Cayenne. What are your thoughts on other maintenance as an owner of the same car? The manual states to basically never change diff/t case fluid if you’re not using the vehicle hard. Very odd to me. I think I’ll just do those in the drive because why not?

I too don't like the styling very much of the C8. I like the C7 more, but the angular language isn't doing it for me.
That being said, I want to drive a C8, I've heard and read that it's an absolute machine.

Bro, we're not talking precision fit parts with these diffs, they're meant to take abuse. Cruising around in the street isn't much abuse. I'd

Same with the trans. That thing fucks with 9millionHP Chellcatenger Demon 1760HDs, it's built for abuse. If its not abused and overheated, there's not a whole ton to be concerned about.
