Yea, and in recent times 'crashes' are not one day events like in the past. I mean, I'm not really playing that game other than the index funds in my 401k. not worried about minor corrections in that. PS that 13k I divested via the 401k loan looks to have been a decent call in the short term

I'm worried about it more as an indicator in the health of the overall economy. IMHO these market highs are not real gains and all just inflation showing up in stoinks. A falling market / correction would indicate is coming to terms with the thing we all already know - regular people are squeezed tight right now and cant afford to buy shit, and that shows up in the bottom line of corporate america.

I track my shit monthly because money is sitting all over the fking place so I made it a cadence so I don’t fuck up and forget it … like I used to do with my 401k and missed out massively. And the 85k is net of depositing probs around 20k of espp and earning quite a bit of interest my cash and getting paid… I think I’m down 6 figures + net of “earnings”

Griff, you should go read this. All of you should. I know yall generally hate my stack rec's but this one directly deals with the issue at hand in olde Griffs wokeplace.D Griff wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 6:27 amI wouldn’t even be surprised if this POS is still ‘she’ at home and the whole ‘they’ thing is just to further arm itself with amo to screw everyone for its own benefit. Agreed.
Griff's employer doesn't want to get sued, and this person is playing the system. Same as anyone else who does it IMO. It's not a trans issue just a shitty person who knows the loopholes issue.
It will take some time for all this to shake out and find it's place in society. Until then, ugh. It's frustrating at times.

It sums up where I am, and I suspect where you and most of us are on this issue. May give you some insight to you feelings and some copium to deal with them.

Spent a handful of hours at the labor and delivery hospital last night; everything is fine and we got discharged around midnight.
Michelle had been feeling even more unwell than she has throughout pregnancy the last few days, with yesterday being particularly worse. A few of her symptoms were on lists that were told to call the nurse advice line for, and I took her blood pressure at 155/95, so we called and they told us to come in. Thankfully it was nothing, but man things felt very real there for a second with the thought that if shits going sideways they might induce labor then and there.
They did bloodwork, a urine sample, and some other stuff and everything checked out. We have a scheduled OB appointment tomorrow, so will be nice to have a such a quick follow up about last night.

Oh man, good luck with everything. Hope it's smooth sailing for the next few weeks.

Just high blood pressure. Some of the tests they ran were to check for that. They were monitoring her for it closely early in the pregnancy, but then they decided she was all good.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 9:36 pmPreeclampsia ?
