Here's the thing. By the time you fix certain glaring errors like exhaust and wheels that ameliorate the appearance issues (I have never seen a car that can vary so wildly to me in appearance based on color and wheel choices)
You are dangerously close to a 1LZ Z06. Which is a straight supercar.

I think at 115+ the value prop is kind of lost though … the engine sounds great though

How about the fact that it is a 670 hp NA engine with a warranty. Nobody else makes that, and nobody ever will again.

Widebody, better wheels, WAY better exhaust, order it with body colored bits instead of black and it starts looking pretty elegant. An American triumph.

Do we really think it was a design requirement ?! It just seems like they wanted to give it some practicality as corvettes generally had a pretty big hatch, and it happens to fit a set of clubs.

Also I’m not corvette apologist … the interiors are still shit, and the steering wheel is fugly. But performance is great … I wouldn’t mind one

I mean I agree on all of it… that’s why it’s kind of annoying. I wish I wanted one. When these are $40k in four years it’ll be wild, but I just can’t get down with something I find not attractive. C5, 6, 7 def had the same meh to bad interiors, stigma, whatever but they at least look cool to me and have the performance/practicality/price nailed. I’d love to see anyone here get a C8 as it’s an incredible car. Just not one I can want.

The Z06 looks better enough, is amazing enough, and yes I want a manual enough that the wants would come on pretty hard then, you’re right.

Z06 does actually look pretty sweet. But that’s not really one I can dream of owning in a decade I don’t think.

I wonder if there is some sort of major downside to flat plane cranks… they seem to be the “answer “ to sounding great but there is a reason they are not used much… probably something that shakes itself apart with miles if I had to gander

Could be? I just felt like the old uglier interior felt more solid. But if the harness hasn't degraded yet after 30 years it's probably ok enough for me.
