I think these look good too. Defenderesque but FAR MORE reliable in 5 years, twin turbo and all.

Given the fact that Toyota just recalled every single 3.4/5TT they produced because they catastrophically implode I’m going to go with fuck no on this statementDesertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 4:37 pmI think these look good too. Defenderesque but FAR MORE reliable in 5 years, twin turbo and all.

No, fuck Toyota of today. Their “president” just apologized for lying on emissions also… Tacomas are showing up all fucked up with shit paint … and tons of issues also. This is NOT the Toyota from the hay days .
They raised prices 25% on every model and turned quality to shit with cost cutting …
You know what a 48k Tacoma no longer has standard ? A power drivers seat and a full size space tire. Fuck em

Figured I’d just post it up. My truck also has an outstanding recall for “weld splatter” on the rear axle nuts that apparently can lead to losing a rear wheel suddenly when the nuts back out. And I’m on a vendetta against Toyota as of late because they are seemingly an evil corp.
Two of my friends have been trying to buy a Sienna and I have trying to help for a year … and Toyota is limiting trims to mostly platinum and dealers are charging 55-8k msrp +5-20k markup … which is frankly insanity. They seem to try and fuck their consumers at every corner. Really sad… but I think I’m swearing off the brand from here on out.

Toyota dealers are selling "used" cars/trucks with 2-5 miles on the clock for 2-5k over sticker.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 7:23 pmFigured I’d just post it up. This is from one YouTube video I've seen, but the days of dealer tricks and fuckery seem to be here for a while.

Checked out that V60 CC.
It’s super small inside. Not linebacker approved. Smaller in every dimension than the CRV which I didn’t exactly expect. Can’t sit in front of a baby seat comfortably because the seat backs have a strange protrusion. The salesman that came with me was about my size and it was comical… his head was literally bumping the headliner.
Other weirdness. Mismatched tires despite CPO. Front has P-zero rear had SUV pirelli scorpions. Brakes shuddered the whole car while slowing down so they need to be replaced. Despite the dealer installing brand new brakes on it. And the real killer was the cargo area is smaller than the CRV, not as tall, and the load floor is damn near exactly the same height. So bad hip doggie will have just as hard a time getting in here as she will in the current car.
It was a nice car. Nice features. Cool 360 camera, HUD, normal car quick despite lag and a slow transmission. Comfy. It’s just too small. And the running costs of premium at half the MPG don’t get made up by anything other than the badge and that it doesn’t feel super slow.
I’m curious who the car is for. I think it’s for DINK single dog Birkenstock owners that love REI but hate Subaru outbacks.

Well since I prefer to keep my kidneys I might forego this. But solid car overall. I got Lisa onboard with me getting a daddy mobile that can haul one kid and the dog. Or two kids in a pinch. Just needs to be automatic.
So thinking 330i, A4, or Giulia.

You talk about ppf film peeling a bit … check out how shitty the new Tacomas are made… panel gaps that even put teslas to shame … and epic shit plastics on top that don’t align with anything …. Fuck this brand

Yup. I’ve been seeing it on my insta feed. The interior panels flex like crazy. And now trannys are blowing up?max225 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 12:43 pmYou talk about ppf film peeling a bit … check out how shitty the new Tacomas are made… panel gaps that even put teslas to shame … and epic shit plastics on top that don’t align with anything …. I think the A5 looks good but price will be the driver here.
Anyone know about reliability / pain in the ass-ness of the A4/A5 vs 330i with the B48? I know the Audis use the DSG trans which is… a mixed bag for a daily runabout with expensive service costs. I think the ZF8 has a leg up there.

ZF has the leg up IMO even though I had 0 issues with the DSG over almost 4000mi. I thought the tuning was good enough that I didn't even know until I noticed it only had 7 gears. I think the BMW has a larger rear seat, but the options were still mostly a la carte so you can find some weird cars that are missing things you'd think are no brainers. If prices are similar I wouldn't look at the traditional sedans unless you don't like the lift back looks.
