I flipped the GR86 for a hefty profit after 6 months. Ended up with a Pro4-X Frontier for a while and after that turned into a bag of shit offloaded it for a 24 Prius Prime.
My purchases go from extreme to extreme, usually. Focus ST to Silverado to GTI to Tacoma to Corolla Hybrid to GR86 to Pro4X to Prius Prime in the last 7 years.
I don’t like money.
Miata replaces nothing and is a second car. Prius is perfect appliance for commuting. So I’ll probably trade that for a Polestar 2.
Also, Miata + Polestar 2 combo was VERY much on the table for a while with the new lease deals until I realized I have no way to charge the Polestar 2 at my apartment.

Hence the SQ5.

5 days to get from Oklahoma to Baltimore. Four days from Baltimore to Philly, and three more to get it over the river 15 miles to suburban South Jersey.
At least the shipping was relatively cheap, but I can’t recommend using their in house shipping service if you need to move something in a timely fashion.
At least I’ll get it in time for the 95-100 degree weather next week

Friends, I have
’d.
The local Lakeland listing turned out to be great. Had the full service history, and up close the car was immaculate. I crawled under the car to take a look before signing and the thing is MINT underneath. Best part is they came down in price to within 1k of that Audi Atlanta car. 18k miles more, but it’s top spec (every option but the tow hitch) and it’s been well taken care of.

More photos to come when the weather isn’t shitty.
Told the Atlanta dealer I went with a different one and locked my card so they can’t charge the deposit since they haven’t yet.

Hell yeah dude congrats
That looks like the dealer installed sport exhaust with real tips?
One major complaint about the MLB Audis is that you can't get ventilated seats with the diamond stitched leather. It costs MORE to get the diamond stitching than it does to get the pack with ventilated seats.

For real. For this one, I already started bargaining by saying I had that Atlanta deal going before I even went to the dealer, and after test driving the car and some back and forth they agreed to come down in price. The Atlanta car was 42500 after taxes and fees, this one they came down to 43500 because of the higher miles and me agreeing to buy it the day of if they can get me a decent financing rate (they didn't take external financing for some reason) and my self-inspection of the car checked out. While they ran financing things, I went outside and popped the hood to check things out and crawled under the car as well, and this thing looked like it had freshly rolled off the factory floor still underneath despite having 18k more miles than the Atlanta one. Made sure to check the diff and the air suspension and it all looked perfect.golftdibrad1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 8:27 am
Glad you bailed on the atlanta car, that thing gave me the worries
So I went inside, went over the financing, and signed

On the way home I noticed little details like the front side window

Thanks! Yeah whenever my brother and I visit our parents it's the most colorful driveway on the street haha.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 11:07 am

The Z3's holding on. It needs a ton of things that are just giving up from old age, and my brother doesn't quite make enough to really take care of it the way he wants to. But it hasn't left him stranded in a long while (it did a couple times way back not long after he bought it), so I think the most serious things are taken care of. The cats on it gave out not long ago and seriously restricted airflow. The car hated revving above like 3k for a while because of that. A month or so ago he got the cats cut out and now it's breathing quite happily, but also quite loud now

I only wish they had the pre-facelift's Matador Red or Azores Green Metallic still available. Would still take those over Ultra Blue. District Green isn't quite as pretty

Well my dudes, the orange car is gone. This was by far the most difficult and

I lowered the price to 11500 on a thursday I think. Posted it to a few more groups and renewed the listing. This must have been the 'right' price because the messages started to really roll in. Ironically the message the got the car sold was my post in a group called "delusional miata pricing" where i was somewhat honestly asking "Am I Delusional?"

I make meeting plans with a couple and another dude. The dude is local the couple is coming in from outside Birmingham AL. The local guy keeps trying to come but never really makes the effort to show up, so I confirm plans with the AL people as they will be driving in. After confirming plans the local guy claims to have cash in hand and ready to buy if the other people don't. This is noteworthy later.

It's worthy to note that the AL people seems really interested and were very chatty on the messenger. One was a MTF Trans and the other was Female. I mention this only because in the 'mentally prepare myself for what to expect' the Trans gal I expected to be... a lot. I will call MTF L and the female C to avoid confusion.
Boy was I wrong.
So they show up to check out the car and C is a fucking masker.

So, I half expected to get an offer. But I got another guy ready with cash.

So after a beat L goes out to talk with C. They come up with another option: Take 1500 off car and leave me the hardtop. And then L can come get it by saturday; if not i can sell it. These things are money in the bank pretty much so I agree to these terms.

Now, I told them Id like cash or we can do a wire transfer. No cash to be had, so off to the bank. Future Brad finds out this is unnecessary. Future Brad also now knows domestic wire transfers are not instant since?????

Anyway wire gets done, head back to house after bothering the lady at the bank for no reason at all (they used different bank).

Think we are done?

They go to leave. I have a ..... unique parking setup.

The cars rear bumper is roughly in line with tennet b's (TB) front bumper. There are many ways to turn this bitch around. So C hops in the car and reverses up to behind tenant b, cuts the wheel like making a right turn going forward, but we are in reverse.

And then I got to spend all of yesterday, especially afternoon, shitting fucking bricks that I somehow got fucking scammed until the wire finally hit around 515 as I was on the drive home.

I promptly poured two fingers of whillet when I walked through the door.
