Most of America can barely check the oil, let alone diagnose German car problems and fix them themselves or at least give a good indie mechanic a heads up. Therefore they believe they can simply put gas and oil in the Honda and Toyota for the next 100K miles in addition to their car payment, that is all they have been taught to do or want to do. The rest is pure terror. In the case of the Alfa, those people are likely correct. The 330i and Audi, not so much.
And a new Camry hybrid is like $30-40k for reasons so that’s out.
As far as I know J Ho hasn't had any problems with my old 328i and it's now 10 years old with 60+K miles. The only mechanical failures I'm aware of since I acquired at 15K miles are two ABS/Brake speed sensors (replaced by me very easily for like $50 each) and a loose parking brake cable (big PITA to diagnose the weird noise and annoying to fix but like a $5 clip, also DIY and maybe self inflicted from exhaust installation).
Eric's 340 also has been trouble free. I think the days of these being shitpiles is over and I'd 100% go that route.
I've rented several A4s and they are very nice and fast.

Literally the perfect spec. I think that's exactly how I would option it, down to every single box ticked.

I met someone this week who drives pretty much the same spec 328 as mine/dans, and he has 170k miles on that bitch. Nothing by regular maintenance. I was shocked.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 7:15 am

And the bmw is still at like 57k miles. I don’t drive it as much as the TJ and grand.

I forgot about these. When they came out, I thought they were the perfect kit car. But they ended up being way more awkward looking in person. That matte orange is a terrible look too. I wonder how many have actually been completed?golftdibrad1 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 8:44 am https://bringatrailer.com/listing/facto ... 2024-05-17
