Valid point in my opinion, vanilla cars make more sense when they're painted a vanilla color. Who really wants to stand out anyways.
I'd take this idea a step further and drop the trim level to sport or some lightly optioned pleb spec. Dare I suggest a used 2019/20 Camry, Accord, Civic, or something similar? I dunno, I'm probably a retard for suggesting it.
I think the 19/20 Camrys and Accords will drop significantly faster in value and be less fun to drive IMO. The SI is sub 3000lbs and has 200hp. So it is somewhat fun. It is really hard to beat the Civic for anything other than all out power IMO.
It is incredibly practical, fuel efficient, inexpensive, and it may even be a hint of "Fun" with the
Yeah the Si is slow, but it is fun. It's a car that shines in terms of inputs - good steering, great shifting, responsive chassis. In a lot of ways a slow car with great feeling inputs is the most enjoyable thing you can have in day to day street driving.
The Hype R only makes sense over the Si if you are tracking or bombing back roads often.
I agree that the blue is the best color on the Si. The one that I went as far as having delivered to my house and then sent away because the tried to fuck me back before the OG BMW purchase was the blue.

Si doesn’t have ass heaters. I think that’s all it’s missing. Could add afterwards if you want.
As a daily tool it makes more sense than a WRX for fuel economy and whatnot. If you’re not keeping it anyway tho, drive both and get whichever is more fun. Extra cost of fuel won’t be a huge adder over a short time.
It also has the cheapo half digital/analog gauge cluster. But for some reason canada gets the full digital cluster and ass heaters as standard.

I'd love to consider an Si, but the lack of ass warmers makes it a non starter since half of the year I live on Hoth.
Pretty sure they want me to buy an Integra for double the price to get the ass warmers.

SEATS
60/40 Split Fold-Down Rear Seatback
Heated Front Seats
Front 8-Way Power Driver’s Seat
Leatherette Trim
the basic bitch integra at 30,800 + destination comes with heated seats. But it doesn't come in blue... because reasons.

I'd only consider the which is $40k + markup BECAUSE RARE. I'd be shocked if you could get a Integra for under $50k.
I don't care about brand or fanciness, so the Integra is mostly lost on me. The Si is perfect but I gotta have them ass warmers.
Actually you guys... I feel like I was maybe a little the integra is not that BAD looking... HMM. And due to lack of any civics... the integra may be a good alternative, as it would add some features.

The one I posted is the basic bitch spec, in a boring color, is standard. I honestly doubt it'll have huge markup. No one gives a shit about acura...
CVT is basic bitch, breh.
Building it out, adding blue takes the price to $37k (with shipping). Add in $10k dealer rape minimum because it's an enthusiast car, $50k after tax.

I like the Integra a lot. I just don't give a shit about the badge and fancy shit enough to pay that much over a Civic.
Yea the issue is mainly that the SI is not available and based on my research 3-10k above sticker anywhere you go at the moment. Somehow there was a major inventory issue at honderp in the last 2 months, yet acura seems to have faired much better. Likely because its a dying brand.

I fail to comprehend who would pay $10k over sticker on an Si.
The honduh dealer I pass every day is practically empty.

So you're going to have dueling Acuras?

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.

The fendie is back to contender status... due to the literally agreeing to do everything short of refunding me extra money.
So I got an invited to BMW EV event in my town. (They know their demographic). Got to check out the I4, and IX (Which I drove before). And ended up taking the IX for a spin..
IX is kind of ugly outside, but inside it is really nice... Tech is in a lot of ways behind tesla, mainly in screen size, lag and usability. But it is very decent for any other car. The stereo was great, it was relatively fast and it drove nicer than the Model X... at 40% less than the Model X i find it hard to understand the premium other than the crazy fancy doors and downright lunacy speed.
The I4 was it was essentially a fully electric 3 series. AT 58k I'd much rather have that over the Model 3. Damn these designations overlap between Tesla and BMW that's annoying AF.

First of all, now that everyone is loving the Integra, I said that same thing earlier. It's likely actually cheaper than the Civic because no one wants it because it is more money than the Civic.
Sure it's the same car, but it looks unique/nice on the exterior, it's a hatch, it's got adaptive dampers and evidently rides amazing, and a tad nicer interior. I personally wouldn't pay the $7K premium but when there isn't a $7K premium, it seems worthwhile. I would think that buying an Integra at MSRP would depreciate less than a Civic at $7K over too. You have to assume the markup fuckery is instant depreciation the minute Eric's favorite era of car buying comes to a close.
