Haven't needed a water pump since my Scirocco around 1988-ish.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 2:50 pmBecause they didn't send one to you Ron. You always get the VW's with the Forged Titanium F1 water pumps.
They've been Toyota's that drive well and aren't ugly.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 3:45 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 2:50 pm

He hates Toyotas and somehow has a Toyota ownership experience with Volkswagens.
Most of them? They had a sort of bleak period from 2004ish to 2016ish, but otherwise they are one of the better brands.
I meant historically, not the last few years, where I agree with most of the above.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 4:58 pmMost of them? They had a sort of bleak period from 2004ish to 2016ish, but otherwise they are one of the better brands.
Some of the best enthusiastin the Taco and 4R.
Most efficient/best people mover vehicles around in the Prius, Cammie Hybrid, Rage4 plug in, etc.
They offer two very legit sports cars, does any other brand save Porsche have this?
They still make sedans/hatches in the 'rola and Cammie that are pretty dece appliances, they haven't gone 100% CUV in this area.
Their luxo brand has the best quality and service in the industry.
Their full sizeis pretty fuckin'
in its newest form to me, but I personally
about that.
I haven't, but I think the dealer said they added some the last time it was in tor warranty work. (Hood cable snapped. Well, the plastic connector did. I dropped it off and said, "Have fun! Byeeeeeee!")Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 2:30 pmHave you added any coolant since you bought it?Huckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 2:53 pm
This just reminded me to check the coolant level on mine.
Only 33k on the car, so if it needs a new pump, I'll just drop it off at the dealer.
I haven’t really paid attention to it since I thought it’d be fixed in Mk7.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet quite a few people don't even realize that they have a water pump leak. LS engines are known for water pump leaks, too, but unless you happen to catch the thing dripping from the weep hole or get a whiff of coolant, you wouldn't have a clue if your mechanic keeps topping off.wap wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 8:18 pmMyHuckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 7:34 pm

Right. I also look for stains from leaks and don't see any, at least when I look from above. Haven't crawled underneath to look yet.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 8:27 amYeah, I'm willing to bet quite a few people don't even realize that they have a water pump leak. I always check my expansion tank level and have replaced 2 Mk6 water pumps and 1 Ellis pump, al three were self diagnosed but none were so signficant that there was actual drippage.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 8:27 amYeah, I'm willing to bet quite a few people don't even realize that they have a water pump leak. Back in Mk6lyfe there was some company that made a metal water pump for the TSI. There was some guy on the dead forum that had one and like every other respectable mod a person could have, he had some kind of review deal with aftermarket guys. His ride was really sweet I forget his name. Anyway, no word on whether making the water pump out of ferrous material actually improved reliability.
I seem to remember that. It wasn't Grambles, was it?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 11:28 amBack in Mk6lyfe there was some company that made a metal water pump for the TSI.
