I actually hope to stay off this list for the first time...ever?

I actually think it could happen this time. No more OEM leases or deals to tempt, no leases to come due, the 4R turned out to be a pretty great buy for us as we both really like it and it does everything we need. It guzzles gas, but I'm not offing it because of that. We rarely drive, so gas could be $10/gal and I'll it. Cheaper than a 2nd vehicle we don't really need.

My bet is you keep the 4R but still make it via second car purchase.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 3:10 pm

I just don't need a second vehicle, so it's hard to justify all the extra cost for something that would sit around.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 4:42 pmMy bet is you keep the 4R but still make it via second car purchase.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 3:10 pm

We've had the 4R for 3 weeks now and put 340 miles on it so far. The Cucktrek we had as our only vehicle for 6 months and put 5k miles on it.

I'm full remote. Wife is full remote. Commuting will be zero for the rest of the year and beyond...unless there's a job change. And even if there is, the likelihood of BOTH of us getting canned and starting local jobs requiring commuting is pretty low.
I don't see what's going to change to require us to need another vehicle. We've been a one vehicle household since April 2021 when I sold the JL we never drove.
Fun cars are astronomically priced new or used, so I won't be buying anything fun for a deal this year. And even then since I never drive, a fun car is a ton of unless it's like a $5k thing to tinker with (which doesn't exist anymore).

I'll be curious to see if that's the case. I'm oddly into the 4R, that might be good enough for me with the boat.

Had one car, the Cucktrek all last summer. Zero issues.
Wife never goes anywhere on her own, most of my favorite activities can be done around the neighborhood. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason.
