GR86 is the new GTI?
I’m hearing possibly January now as we might have found a dealership in the Boston region willing to allocation swap.
CAT/NYR’s decision not to bring in manual trans premium trims is stupid.

I wonder if they were only allowed to pick one transmission for premium trims for launch to keep the plant moving well? It seems Toyota batch builds a number of models, I imagine that makes the plant far more efficient.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 8:23 am GR86 is the new GTI?

It would be legit incredible where you live. Do they still do ice driving events on lakes over there? They quit in NY about 10 years ago, but that would be so much fun.

That has piqued my interest, as well. Especially since Subaru decided to make the new WRX look like a plastic-cladded butthole and VW decided capacitive buttons are the future.

The new WRX and GTI/GoRf can die in a fire. Which is too bad considering it sounds like both are big improvements in the actual driving department.

The only bit I don’t like about the WRX is the bookshelf rear bumper. Aside from that I think it looks pretty dece.
I’d never buy the MK8 due to the button fiasco. No way in hell would I want to live with that shit.

Yea, it's weird that OEMs don't learn from other's mistakes.
Moving everything to the center screen only works if you're Tesla or some other EV startup. For the rest of the world, it's been pretty well established that no physical buttons suck, and capacitive touch "buttons" are even worse. GM learned that 10 years ago now.
Subaru needs to make a lot of progress with the UI on that center screen

But, it's a screen size arms race across the industry for some reason.
