It's nothing like your car. Civic SI is slow as balls under 4400 rpms. And under 7 second is with some nutty clutch drop, lets see it 5-60. Don't forget you have more than 2x the torque and +25% of displacement, while only adding 10% of weight.

My car is 7.5 on a street start. It makes nothing under 3k. So I drive it around at 3k.

It's the same concept. If you keep the motor in the powerband they're plenty quick. If you try to putt around at 1500 RPM like you do in a GTI it will massively disappoint.

Those cars were like 2700-2900lbs the STI is 3500. They aren't slow. The rsx-s was really fun bwwwwaAAAAAAAAAA-ing through city streets.

Yeah something like that you have to know how to drive it. "Know" meaning keeping it at the appropriate RPM. You can't be in 5th gear at 35 MPH and expect anything remotely resembling acceleration. They'll drive around at 4k RPM all day with no adverse effects because that's what they were designed to do.
I mean shit, when I hit the brake on the highway I'm downshifting, even if traffic only brings me to 50 and rolls on.

that's pretty typical of Japanese cars. I remember in my TSX, I had to downshift to 3rd (5 speed auto with manual mode) to pass a in their fusion on their left lane high as fuck. With my mk6, downshift to 5 and it'll do nearly the same as the TSX, mk7 on D, 4th gear.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 4:45 pmEven my car can't really accelerate at 50mph in 6th...Johnny_P wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 4:26 pm

I'm hoping the low mileage and make mine worth a bit more than that if I sell. Paid $21K about 1.5 years ago.
