That would be cheaper to own than my car. They've been the same price for 10 years and aren't ever going down.

Unless you drive it... 30k miles in 16 years essentially means that's a car you park and take to the gas station once every 2 months or so.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:49 pmThat would be cheaper to own than my car. They've been the same price for 10 years and aren't ever going down.

I don't think a GT3 can go below $50k with any amount of miles, as long as it works and the title is clean.max225 wrote:Unless you drive it... 30k miles in 16 years essentially means that's a car you park and take to the gas station once every 2 months or so.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:49 pm That would be cheaper to own than my car. That particular car is an epic spec. Correct seats, correct color, and correction options.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:53 pmI don't think a GT3 can go below $50k with any amount of miles, as long as it works and the title is clean.max225 wrote:

Only two issues with this:troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:49 pmThat would be cheaper to own than my car. They've been the same price for 10 years and aren't ever going down.
Fronting $60K of capital.
Getting understanding/on board with "spending so much" on a car

That's why I don't have a GT3. It's otherwise the perfect enthusiast car. They come basically "done" from the factory, with fully adjustable suspension and everything. Don't need any modzzz and don't depreciate.D Griff wrote:Only two issues with this:troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 4:49 pm That would be cheaper to own than my car. They're also classed competitively in autox. It's what I logically should own.
I wonder what if any kind of financing is available on a 2004 vehicle. $60K cash is kind of a lot to park...troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 5:41 pmThat's why I don't have a GT3. What's better parking 60k that will be 70k in 5 years... Or buying a new car for 35k that will be 15 k in the same 5 years...D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 5:44 pmI wonder what if any kind of financing is available on a 2004 vehicle. $60K cash is kind of a lot to park...troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 5:41 pm That's why I don't have a GT3. I am annoyed with myself that it took me THIS long to figure it out. I think anything I'll be getting next will certainly keep that in mind.
but I go back to what I said before:max225 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 6:02 pmWhat's better parking 60k that will be 70k in 5 years... Or buying a new car for 35k that will be 15 k in the same 5 years...

a. you have to have $60K cash you're willing to throw down
b. has to be cool with it and most people "don't understand" that logic. My C5 has actually been pretty damn cheap to own as it was already in the bottom 1/3 of it's depreciation curve when I bought it... unlike my

Little miles but it looks like it was pulled out of a lake.
I think it's just shitty Japanese 90s paint + living outside... interior looks nice.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 11:16 amDamn was this car abandoned outside ?D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 11:14 am Browsing MR2s for some reason

I'm not really going to
maybe 2020 will be a year of some kind for me. Staying strong for another month in '19.
That is some real shit .
Once we're settled into the new place I may pitch offing the 328 for a more unique DD to . Ill be way closer to work and now also can work remotely, so the need for a "new" car isn't really there so much. I may suggest we trade in the 328 for something new for her and then I'll buy something a bit more interesting/~$10K for myself. I just can't seem to let go of the even though that would probably make more sense/cents.

The whole work/car sitch is what caused my last 3 switches... I got the TDI because i was driving 25k miles a year @$5 a gallon in 2010... then the Z because i drove 5k miles a year due to new job in the city... now back to whatever due to another job change.
She has a 2012 Fusion with like 150k miles. We may just keep it for years, She wants a small SUV and likes the brand so I am hoping we wind up with a Renegay.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 11:52 amWhat is she in now?D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 11:45 am

Why not compass ? They got 10k on the hood here and they look a bit more luxurious.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 11:53 amShe has a 2012 Fusion with like 150k miles. We would look at both but I prefer the Renegade, it looks cooler, has more space inside, better colors, etc. Both are fine though. She may just want to keep the wagon which is fine too.
