Yeah I'm super :notsure: about all exhaust stuff. Most people seem to want and like much more volume and bass than I would ever want. My favorite cars all shriek. I don't want any rumbles or brubs.

Sounds like my favorite option is likely the stock mufflers with equal length headers and maybe high flow cats but that's all speculation, there's no way to really test these things.

Equal length headers + a stock-ish exhaust would be the move, I think. You're gonna do the tuna?
Dunno. Certainly not before next summer and probably not before summer 2021. I'm just exploring the options for fun and trying to have an "end state" in mind before doing any MODZZZ. That way they should at least follow a logical progression toward that end.

There are a lot of things that would be a waste if other things happen later, like: If I ever get headers, then a catback will be too loud and I'll want the stock one back. If I go :fullretard: on a supercharger, then headers+tune become pointless, etc.

Are the super chargers reliable yet?
It’s a real shame Subaru never put their 2.T in it, with 245 mpss all around and Brembros. 270-300hp would be plenty.

That car would have given anything short of exotics a run for the “fun” money. And it would have come in under 40k as well which is right around the price you pay for the average toaster

No clue on superchargers. I'd be more concerned about the clutch, transmission, and axles than the engine though since it is basically already run with a turbo in the WRX.

At $40k I wouldn't even test drive one. Most of these sell for about $25k new if you don't care about colors or heated seats.

Your car already has equal length headers. Only turbo EJ engines came with unequal length.

Pretty sure he knows that, he was saying he has no interest in the unequal noise adders

Sure, but aftermarket ones (which ditch the first cat) with a tune cost the same as a good catback and add sound in a way that I'd likely prefer (higher pitch) - not to mention the 30 or so extra hp/ft-lbs across the revs.

It seems like every single aftermarket muffler option has a deeper tone and that's the wrong way to go IMO. Sport bikes > harleys.

Header+tune on pump gas in red, ethanol in yellow but fuck that shit. Green is stock.

Drove a bit more with the sound tube unplugged and I think I'm just going to leave it that way, maybe plugging it for long road trips but I don't see any great reason to fuck around with the exhaust. It's not quite as easy as pushing a button, but the sound tube can be (un)plugged in 10 seconds at the passenger footwell.

Next step is I have an Mtech clutch assist spring on order, the stock clutch feel is pretty numb because of a heavy spring helping make the pedal light. Swapping it for a weaker spring supposedly brings back some clutch feel without making it a PITA.

Winter tire decision is 90% made. People have scared me into leaning toward a full-on proper studless snow tire vs. a performance winter. I'm still not 100% sold but if I end up stuck somewhere in my stupid sports car I'll never hear the end of it... New(ly available in the USA) Continental VikingContact 7 is the plan, they came out last winter for Europe and tested better than the Michelin Xi3 over in Sweden and Russia. 205/50/17 on the stock :ramz: is the sizing, mainly waiting for the local Firestone shop to run their $100 off sale which is November 14-17... meanwhile I'll be driving on the 240 treadwear summers and it's supposed to be in the 20s/30s every morning with some snow this week. :thisisfine:

Not a clue what I'll do for a summer setup yet. Maybe RE71R on the gold SSR's, combined with TRD sways and springs if I want to make the car super sporty. Maybe just throw the stock prius tires on the SSR's and leave the suspension stock too if I want to spend less cash. :whocares:

FWIW 44F is not that bad... at least you're not sweating bullets and pouring all that sweat into your newish floormats when check on the cabin air filter underneath the dash.

It's not great when everything you're touching on the car is also 44F.

Yeah I don't know if it'll ever sell. Sold for 1.25 in 2012 ish, was fully renovated and relisted at 2.7mm in 2016. Still hasn't sold.

I mean... like i said.. if one needed/wanted all that space it would be really nice. I don't have 1.6M in cash... and I'd rather do the 220k house and be left with a lambo + enough to live off for 15 years.

It's on its way down to 27 and gonna snow/rain tomorrow :doe:

I did finally get it after taking a break to build up some :rage: strength. Not much more left to do besides drive the car, and the remaining shit is either easy or will be done by a pro.

The car is fucking awesome, it just needs a few minor things like this clutch spring and probably some kind of stereo upgrade to make daily driving better. I'm trying to do everything the way I want it from the beginning on this so that I can enjoy it and actually keep the damn thing until the pods take over.

:plac: is no longer an option, :tits: would go full :nuke:
