Got to see two of my best friends that I grew up with last night. Their parents still live in the town we were raised in and they came out to visit them. They each have a kid now, and the parents like Carlsbad, so they all came down for the week and hit Legoland a few days with the kids. Met them at their resort up there after work last night and hung out, then we went and grabbed pizza and beers at Pizza Port. Glad I got to see them and catch up. Hopefully seeing one of them in a few weeks again when I go up to Seattle to visit some other friends; he lives an hour or two south of there.

Damn right. We'll always have each other.
When I went to college, I severed almost all ties with my high school peeps. I was looking to start a new life...and did until I left for CA where I started a new life again. Then moved back to MI and started over AGAIN because I was so out of touch with everyone I used to hang with.
I have hung out with some old peeps trying to reconnect, and found we just didn't have much in common anymore.
Damn.

Yeah there aren’t many people from HS I still talk to. These two brothers I saw yesterday (older bro was there too, he’s cool, but we were never close), then two other dudes, one still lives in the area and one lives in Canada now so we just text to stay in touch and see each other once a year or so when he comes to visit family.
