Really nice, thanks.
I am going to have a very hard time getting on the plane to go home next week. We went to a Luau last night and it was a blast. Its 4:13 AM now and I'm the only one up. I should be sleeping, but I've been up since 2 AM and just can't sleep. Sitting in the upstairs living room with all the windows open right next to the balcony. It is drizzling on and off over the last hour and I'm listening to the ocean.
Today we're going to go to Waimea Canyon in the morning for a hike, so I should think about sleep....
The people on Kauai are extremely nice and so laid back... but I think if I was able to live here and be comfortable I wouldn't worry about much either.

We're going to fly over to Oahu for a day later this week to see a busy island and some actual tourist-y spots. This island is really reminding me of smalltown USA where the sidewalks roll up at 9pm and there's nothing open except fast food and Safeway.
The water out here is insanely blue. So blue I can't believe it is the same ocean shared with my home state, which looks like gray/black gunk in comparison.

Oh, and the house we're staying in looks nothing like what it did when we booked it.
The wife did some digging and in December it had an appraisal value of $1.9M, but since we booked it they tore the house to the studs and redid everything. 100% brand new everything. Two bedrooms, 3 full baths decked out to the 9's. All top of the line everything, clearly no expenses spared... Has to be pushing $3M in value now when comparing to the others in the area. Really a good deal for the average nightly rate of $690 when compared to two rooms at a resort.

I've spent about $800 shopping in 2 days on stuff to take home and I've been going cheap. Almost bought this awesome wooden bowl that was hand turned from a local artist, but it was $4300. Um, that's nice and all, but no.

Yep. Honolulu for a couple nights, basically jus a full day, then Maui for the rest. Honolulu was good for a brief visit; some great sushi there and Pearl Harbor was amazing. Then get outta there and head somewhere calmer.[user not found] wrote:You went for your honeymoon, right?Calvinball wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 11:12 am It’s expensive, but great.
