Almost everything that I enjoy involves competition and self-improvement in some form, so "complaining" is always a part of that. Seeing room for improvement != being unhappy. It's finding something interesting to do.

I don't know that many things, I learn them by participating in discussions and watching Jeopardy. When I first joined golfmk6, I didn't know much of anything about cars except how to drive them quickly on a track. Now I know all sorts of useless shit that nobody else cares about, like gear and steering ratios.

I love Jeopardy

I've a love/hate relationship with Jeopardy and Wikipedia. A clue can come up about something that I don't know and within 30 seconds I'm reading about it on the wiki, then 3 hours later I'm still reading random tangential stuff and have a bunch of other tabs open to read later... one random interesting fact can easily result in multiple hours of reading useless crap. It might add up to 10-15 hours a week that I blow on that stuff.

I do this from time to time, but mostly I don't have enough time to even do it from time to time.

I enjoy a good informational black hole.

This is part of why I don't read books. If I pick one up, I'll finish it within a few days whether or not I actually have time to do so. The only way to "win" is to avoid them entirely.
