My goal was always to have a really clean car I can have fun with, because the more perfect it is, the less you'll want to actually drive it.

Gotta find that balance.
I certainly understand that! Had to go for the meemz, :doe:

These are the best seats ever put into a Miata from factory. They come with the Brembo/BBS/Recaro package, which is $4470 and gets you the brakes, the wheels, and the seats. This fucker is trying to sell the seats for $4500 :butwhy:

Yeah, I'm good dog.

$4500 is a whole Miata.

FWIW, they're $4k EACH brand new from Mazda.

I know that because I ordered a car for a customer that arrived sans Recaros. Mazda didn't let anyone know there was a production constraint on the Recaro seats at the time, so when the car showed up without the key bits... it was not good.

Luckily I was able to source the last available 2019 MX-5 soft top in ceramic with the Brembo/BBS/Recaro package and a :manuel: transmission in Oklahoma for the customer. Had it shipped from there to our dealer in NJ and all was good again.
That sounds like a sweet ride. I really have the wants for an ND right now.

I love the ND2. We just had a white 2020 Sport roll off the truck at work, and I've got that red BBS/Brembo/Recaro one at work too.
If I wasn't in the middle of blowing like $2K on the :poorvette: , maybe I would :doit: .

But I think I'm committed to 2020/probably 2021 with it at this point.

:wtf: That’s absurd! Why so expensive from Mazda?????

Also, :jizz: for ceramic. I was looking for ND1 Club’s for a while, but after certain events the numbers no longer added up.

Not with OEM airbags and crash testing and heaters and leather etc.

Leather plus alcantara AND FIA crash certified.

I can have 1 of these, a proper bracket, an SCCA approved roll bar installed, an FIA 6 point harness, and an FIA HANS device all for the price of one of those seats.

The QRT is dope, I will continue to sing its praises.

The lightness of it is crazy as well.

If you plan on wearing a helmet whenever you drive the shortbus then that's a great option.

The point is that those seats individually from Mazda are way too fucking expensive.

They don't expect to sell them except for as part of a vehicle repair paid for by :waxer: insurance companies. You're not supposed to buy them in any other circumstance. OEM parts like that are never priced for individuals to actually buy.

...but the main point of my post was that you shouldn't be driving with a roll bar and no helmet if you value your brain.

Recaro tax.
https://www.recaro-automotive.com/us/dy ... ortster-gt

It’s more than that. You can get fancy-ass Recaro Sportster GT seats for $1700 with fancy heaters and crash testing certifications.

I just don’t see where the remaining $2300 is. Even taking another thousand for the airbag (which is overkill), that’s still $1300 too expensive.

That’s true about the insurance thing.

But driving with a rollbar withot a helmet on the street is fine. Driving with harnesses and no helmet and no HANS on the street is not fine. That’s how you end up with your head snapped off and sitting in your lap.

Only if your setup is :wrong:

The correct way to have a roll bar is to have the seat lowered far below it and have plenty of padding on the bar. For example, in my dad’s NB, I sit way below the roll bar even in the stock seats, and they’re padded. Zero percent chance of me cracking my head on the roll bar. Seatbelt wouldn’t allow it and if I did reach that heigh in a crash I have bigger problems.

:dat: can be true... sadly I am too large a person for that to really be possible in a Miata.

Ceramic kit and tire armor came 4 days early!

:notbad: Fedex!

UV light is on backorder though :angrypanda: I was really looking forward to seeing the glow effect on the coating.

Anyways polishing and ceramic coating happens Friday. I’m gonna try out the tire armor today, though

What kind of UV light? Hardware stores should have some
