Mk8 R looks better than the mk8 GTI but aside from “new is nice” factor I don’t like them that much. Obviously will be a better car all around but it looks like a KIA

The front end disagrees with me, specifically the light bar that was added across the grill to give it a strangely reminiscent design styling from the 2004 BMW 5 series which IMO is the ugliest one.

I do like the added bolt ons, it is advertised with some spoiler that looks like it will be optional and a exhaust. The seats are nice too. Like you say, it is just another example of "new is nice" and I have no feelings for it. In fact I still enjoy the look of my MK7 which I think is currently valued under half of what I paid for it sans the tax bs.

I'll hate the trends toward digi-dashes and the lack of physical controls and shit forever, but given current automotive trends the new GoRf looks pretty awesome.

I'm sure it'll be a good car/par for the course for GTI/R, but it just kind of looks like a "Korea-fied" Golf to me. I don't dislike it, but certainly wouldn't consider it better looking than the previous.

The Mk8 is kinda growing on me, that digi-dash and steering wheel will always be a for me.

I'm not looking forward to the day when digi-shit is all that will be available. Though I guess when everything is electric or pods

Digital dashes will be the standard very quickly. Being just a screen, it's a lot cheaper to develop and tool AND the exact same unit can be shared across many vehicles and it's just some programming to update the look for different brands.

It's actually tech, but it's going to make cars more disposable I'm afraid.

Agreed. It’s going to get a set of HRE’s soon. Vossen was the only wheel available in the RS6 spec that wasn’t stock.

22’s is standard for RS6 due to the size of the brakes.

21’s is the smallest wheel possible on the RS6
