My hand is being forced to run a new cable line. Cox turned off my internet to old house and I need to move all the electronics over.

Got 2 nests thermostats installed. The E apparently needed to charge via usb micro for about 1.5 hours before powering on. I thought it was DoA after rechecking wires and voltage.

Id say house is about 60% moved.

Still need to move the:

-Fridge
-heavy ass entertainment center (might just try to sell it and wall hang tv)
-tv/electronics stuff.
-sofas
-dinning table
-heavy ass antique desk (erin doesn't want it at new house)
-master bedroom

Alarm guy is supposed to come around tomorrow to get the old system talking to their monitors.

Im trying to find a new/better way to deal with entertainment electronics junk.

I like the looks of this with the floating wall hung but I dont think it can support the shit I got. I have yet to see a clean/minimal method for people that like stereo stuff.

Image

What I have to deal with.

+receiver (fairly large)
+amp (same size and heavy)
+bluray player
+center channel speaker.

+interweb cable modem
+wifi router

-maybe xbone? Might make a game room and that moves.
-maybe record player? Doesn't have good top access in current spot.

I like having doors to keep dust down. The current overkill rig has lots of storage/pockets and great door layout with vent fans for air circulation.

If you get a floating setup just put the stereo shit below the floating piece straight on the floor? :iono:

I'd like to keep the floor space as clear/open as possible. The robot vac can clean under it and it was really nasty with hair/dust/dog toys that roll under the big one.

Here is what I have now. It was apparently a super :waxer: unit from Diamond Case - Evolution for $5k.

I got it for like $300 at an estate sale.

Got the Nest E working but it won't connect to wireless network. Won't even find them. Unsure so I have a request sent to nest and the seller ready to return it.

Also started removing some terrible light fixtures and got led retrofits outside on patio. The busted fan is next to get replaced.

It supposedly logs/learns your settings and builds a schedule around that. It also turns itself down when it doesn't sense household activity, ostensibly when you go out.

this weekend was a lot of work at the old house, getting it pressure washed, taking note of touch up paint areas.

old faithful (20 year old honda/cat pressure washer) fired right up with minor carb cleaning. It sadly wont put out high pressure. It used to be able to literally blow concrete away. Now in full throttle it acts just like a basic washer and can do general cleaning.

I think I can replace the pressure check valves. :fax: gave some pro tips too.

Also got the safe moved. That was a real PITA.

I celebrated with buying chairs. The table should be built in a few weeks.

We have these in our office.
Except they have sides instead of it being open like yours. Be sure you tighten the screws every once in a while. They seem to loosen and eventually move the pressure points to other areas of it and wear a little.

will do. I sprung for the slightly more expensive version with thicker plastic and rated to 325lb. But they are still dirt cheap. :scrooge:
