I’d say at this point I’m 80% set on it, but if something seems off in person I won’t have a problem walking away. 100%. for $6k I could probably find something that will give fewer headaches… but a supercharged hatchback with low miles, a manual transmission, and knowing who the PO is and that the car hasn’t seen a hard day of driving in its life is not going to be found outside of this.

This R53 is looking like it will be my first black car, and the color is what I’m least excited for. At least the wheels aren’t black. I may end up throwing some lightweight 16” wheels on it at some point.. if I do, I’d like to add a little pop of fun color like gold/bronze. Even though bigger winter ramz doesn’t make much sense, I’d keep the stock wheels around for winter so I can throw chains on them and not worry about powder coating getting scratched up by the chains/cables.

ND Miata wheels look great, and fit well btw and are probably pretty cheap. That could be a nice way to test out some stuff.

True. But I’ll have chains on hand for a just in case scenario. I’ve/snow really only seems to be an issue for a few days, up to a week, out here so I likely won’t need them ever.. but better safe than sorry.

Damn. Those are great looking, but 9” is much wider than I think I’d want and I don’t know enough about fitment of the mini to know if those would fit with no rubbing. I’m not planning on lowering the car ever, but 2” wider than stock seems like it could cause issues on a spirited turn..

If you go for two wheel sets, winter or all weather tires might be another option. We have a similar climate in terms of snow, rarely cold enough and the 0-3 days/year with it I just opt to not drive. We could share the as well if it snows.

I think they’re amazing on paper, just wish they looked a bit better. Black actually kind of suits it, much like a new WRX , it hides some of the weird lines.

Feels great. Shifter is 100x better than I expected. Figured it’d be a little sloppy feeling like the MKVI was, but it’s surprisingly crisp.

It's like Ferrari is making EVEN BETTER looking cars, the 296 GTB is just incredible in my opinion, and I understand that ok, that costs $300K, but could not we have closed the gap A BIT MORE? My remedies for the fugs to get CLOSER to the Ferrari are:

1. Red Mist Paint
2. Body Colored Exterior Accents for $995
3. Brola (Chevy already told you the square exhaust was for chumps when they put four rounds on the Z06)
4. Chrome badging for $295
5. Just lose the Chevy wheels and go Apex. (The Z06 ramz are amazing)

So you're paying Chevy $1300 and the aftermarket $8000 to make your car less inherently ugly. And sound a lot cooler, the standard exhaust doesn't sound like it should. I would also consider SeaWolf Gray or Cacti Green. Why? Because the car is not beautiful enough to pull off the glam colors, torch red, yellow, orange, and in particular rapid blue.....cool color, doesn't work on that car for me.

Also, it needs a manual and and it needs a GS option for widebody/giant meatz/Z06 sex suspension sans the wild engine.

All of this is why this forum just cannot bukkake over this car.

Agreed on all. I’m somewhat into the Z0sex but it’s just too much money for me and the power is completely unnecessary. The engine is cool and all but the main thing is, once you see the Z0sex, the others look even more meh. It’s an amazing car and for the price an insane value but the looks prevent me from going full My Toyota 86 and former 10 year old German Camry were both a lot better looking. Tough pill to swallow. I also covet a manual but wasn’t going to say it, figured I was just
