That's what I was trying to get through to her, but she's just not having it.

So, the $5k GE one will probably win. I've had great luck with GE appliances, so there are worse options.

Also, get rid of those wires underneath the TV. What is this, a fraternity house?
TV's going away. Makes no sense in the kitchen, and we never use it.
Not a TV, but a tablet in the kitchen would be 5/7 for looking at recipes. I might repurpose my amazon tablet to do that since I'm not using it for autox anymore.

They're often perfectly reasonable compromises, size wise, for situations like yours. We had a 20 ft wall so our 48" fits just fine. And 6 burners is :jimp: What brand(s) are you looking at other than GE, any?
The new Cafe appliances (GE's recently launched :pinshit: brand) is the winner at this moment. 36" range includes 6 18k BTU brass burners. We can't find any others that have ALL high powered burners like that. Also has convection oven, etc. The color will also match the GE dishwasher I just bought AND you can change out the knobs to different finished that has :tits: full blown: :triggered:

https://www.appliancesconnection.com/ca ... p3md1.html

She's focused (too much IMO) on looks. We looked at Viking and Wolf and she doesn't like that they're only stainless steel. Want more style for max :pinshit:

There's these euro brands (french and italian) that offer the design she's looking for, but the performance reviews are pretty mixed. Not to mention, finding parts will likely be a challenge that I don't feel like messing with. Like this checks all the boxes:

https://www.appliancesconnection.com/ha ... 0cmmg.html

But it's a brand I've never heard of at way too good a price. There's no way this thing is legit for the price. Let alone parts availability is seriously in question.
Dat range sure is purdy, but :notsure: about the brand, and it still has only 4 burners.

I too would be more concerned about performance vs. appearance.

Indeed. High end GE stuff is solid.

We put a firestick on the TV and Alexa doesn't work. Ask it to show you a recipie and it just starts reading it, which is 5/7 worthless.

Agreed that a tablet would work better for this purpose.

Close. They had no idea what the outlet was or what the point was. It was just "dead".

HA. yeah... thats a tad long to type up today.

Cliffs: wife, GF at time, had a married co worker whos electric gate didnt work. Husband was sure the outlet was bad but was scared to replaced it because electricity is scary. I offer to go look at it.

Ray ray and I show up with limited tools. Gate is poorly designed and installed, but we search for the root cause. Gate was solar powered with some sketchy ac adapter plug in thing snaked into under kitchen sink cabinet. Outlet was hanging out wall and appeared to have broken plastics. I replaced the outlet but it was still dead.

Dude bro: "oh yeah, most our kitchen outlets on counter dont work, and the one on the island has been dead a long time. I cant charge my iphone there" :derp:

I go look, sure enough its a GFCI. Push, click pop light. Test all outlets, boom, they work.

Dude bro: :amaze: Im glad im not an electrician.

Me: yeah me too.... youd starve. :like:

Late to the game here, but I have a couple Google Home Hubs, one in the kitchen and it is pretty awesome. When idle it displays my images from google photos and will play back youtube vids. Great for "Hey Google, how do you boil water?" type requests. :)

:ohdang: good to know. We were just debating the usefulness of a Google Home type thing. Might be worth picking up while they're on sale.

It's not going to be the gargemahal that I hoped due to city restrictions. 750sqft max, 15' high max (as measured half way up rafters). Likely going to do a 2.5 car with the .5 for a small work area, and ceiling tall enough for possible stacker lifts in the future. Loft over work area for storage. Footprint large enough to fit :truk: in.
