Downloading the app now.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 10:00 amI've tracked every car I've owned, back to the Focus, from tank 1. A bit pedantic and OCD but helps track bad fuel if it happens and keeps track of trends.

Nope, 14% of my miles have had trailers in tow too.
I'll track with Fuelly starting at my next fill-up and see what that says.

The only real I've done is on trips. Something around 18-19mpg all highway.
Real world with all the city and wheeling I do is probably in the 15-17 range.

Nephew of a a few first gen immigrant on DFD, resident turk, and ex nazi egg lover now driving a middle class mom mobile.
I used to track my GTI with Fuelly and was going to track the R too but their app is hot garbage on Android. I don't feel like fiddling through the app while at the pump.
R seems to do about 1-2 mpg worse than GTI.

I already made a change. But that was more because of the commute than prices. Full retard to commute 96 miles a day in a truk. So far in the 6 I've been averaging 36-38 on my trips to work. It's pretty ideal conditions with back roads and hills so a lot of coasting and averaging between 50-60 MPH. Overall I've averaged 34 for the first month with the car. Definitely satisfied with that mileage and still being decent to drive.

10% ethanol is pretty much everywhere.
In fact, here there's stations that sell "pure gas" for off-road use only. I.E. lawnmowers and whatnot. My gas yard equipment ran like after a year of 10% ethanol, but now on pure gas they run great.

Ours isn't marked here but I know that Shell 91 or higher is ethanol free and most others aren't. Buying it costs an extra few cents per litre so I pick my poison accordingly. Usually get the ethanol free stuff if it's avail.

I'd have burned through the whole tank of premium in that timeframe[user not found] wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 12:39 amI took a 2017.5 6 GT to Longuysland and back for Mazduh training on Tuesday. 225+ miles and I only used a 1/3 tank.
Have you driven the 6 with the turbo?

There is more oil out there that we haven't found, that's for sure. Problem is the easy hits are basically all known at this point, so extraction will get more difficult and costly.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 10:10 pmpoor estimates PLUS new sources that we 'couldnt get to before'. We won't ever run out of oil in any practical sense. We will fry the earth way before that.

Today since I was stuck behind trucks most of the way doing the speed limit of 45 I got 39.6. I don't have any regrets picking it over the Accord. Is it traction limited? I haven't seen much on these but it seems 1st gear is either limited or just a long gear?
Would be fun if they threw that in the CX5 or 3.

Concur. During my recent road trip to Minnesota I found several stations selling 91 E0 for "recreational use" as noted on the nozzle. I noticed an immediate improvement and believe I could easily get 500 miles on a tank of it on the highway. In fact, the last time I filled up on that trip was just before crossing into Wisconsin back on 5/12, about 200+ miles from home and I'm still on that same tank today.
I hate that about E10. It might burn a little cleaner but you have to burn more to go the same distance as E0 so are you really putting out less pollution per tank?
