Which I don't get how people didn't know. Every time I saw a VW advertisement, they plastered "6/72K People First Warranty" over the entire screen.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 9:42 pm The warranty didn't increase sales and it caused dealers to bitch. Ditch the warranty. It was nice but didn't make sense in the first place. *I didn't know it existed until I started shopping for one* which means they did a piss poor job of marketing it which was it's only value for anyone.

might as well donate it to VWofA headquarters just a 3-4 hour drive from the blessed lands.
And yes crayons, you can never have too many crayon smells

Yeah, but its isnt the best warranty. The KIA 10yr/100k mile wins hands down. 6 year bumper to bumper is really impressive
one of the few no sunroof mk4s ever. First with Recarbros and bigger brakes along with the sexy 6spd.
the right 337, a yellow 20th AE, and a blue r32 would be the ONLY mk4's I'd EVER maybe consider owning.

That 337 is . There was most definitely a point in my car life where I lusted after a 337/20AE/2004.5 GLI. By the time I had enough cheddar for one of those I also had the means to get the , so I just got that instead, but I've always loved those cars.

I stopped at a VW dealer last night to look at a 2019 GTI S. It is a 6 speed with the driver assistance package, discounted down to $24,125. I'm trying to decide if I want to ditch the truck for a GTI.
Does the S have LSD? The last few years it hasn't unless they changed the model lineup. Don't get one without it.Huckleberry wrote:I stopped at a VW dealer last night to look at a 2019 GTI S. It does now, PP is standard. I'd avoid 2019 manuals like the plague, though. They have stalling issues that VW hasn't figured out, several have been bought back. A few instances of problems with the DSG cars, but the rate seems to be quite a bit lower.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 11:02 amDoes the S have LSD? Yes it is. I'm biased, but the 2017 Sport model is still the ideal build. Lighting package, PP, no leak and rattle-prone sunroof, pre-refresh HU so no swaths of piano black plastic everywhere. no pointless driver aids to beep annoyingly and fail, and of course the cloth seats.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 11:29 amWell, that's unfortunate.coogles wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 11:10 am

That's insane. I saw a thread on that a while ago but I didn't think it was as widespread. Wonder what's causing it because the transmission has been the same the last 5 years at least.coogles wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 11:10 amIt does now, PP is standard. I'm not sure how different they are from the Mk5/6 trannys either.

Seems like a software bug and not a transmission issue.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 12:12 pmThat's insane. I saw a thread on that a while ago but I didn't think it was as widespread. The trans has been the same since the MK4 days. The ECU was updated to the Simos 18 ECU in 2018, so if it was related to the hardware or tune you'd think the '18s would have those problems too. Seems some people have had the problem fixed with new cam position sensors, others have had all sorts of hardware replaced with no resolution.
