I'd probably cap my dog at $1500 for a single visit.
That's not how it works IRL. You go into the vet to look at the big lump that's been growing on your dog's leg....Dog is 10 yoa. They do cytology on the lump, out for results. $400. Phone call to Brandon "Lump is malignant, but the good news is that is hasn't traveled to the lymph nodes, I feel like we have a good chance of cutting it out with good margins." How much to cut it out?" "$1800."
So are you going to put the dog down right there or just take it home and put some .45 ACP into its cranium out in a field?
My guess is neither.
Shit is easier said than done. Unless dag is suffering

DFD. The forum where everybody makes the same choices and then tells anybody trying to join the club that they are the stupidest motherfucker to ever walk the earth.
Having made this decision within the past 16 months, cost played a rather small part in the decision. Biggest deciding factor was quality of life for the pup if surgery would have been successful.
Easiest most difficult decision wifey and I have ever made.

That's it. If she can be fixed for a few grand.... I mean I've got an assload of money into this dog as is amirite? I can keep the little princess around, it's not a financial burden for me.

I bought the ceramic grille knock-off from Costco last year for $400 on sale. I use it at least 3 times a week now. Searing steaks. Pizzas. Low and slow smoking salmon, etc. The thing is the best purchase I've made in a REALLY long time. I love it.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.
Wife told me that he moved it into the garage and now the brown Econoline is on the street. So apparently, he's going to keep the crushed Previa for the long term and his prized Econoline is going to rot on the street. Hopefully, there's another tree that can fall on it.

Damn. My smoker didn't make the move from KY.
Really didn't want to drop 1k on a egg. 400 is more like it.
Or go full and get some terracotta planters a la Alton Brown...
Really? Interesting. Need to take another look at the kamodo Joe.
I have friends with both I thought the hardware was better on the KJ for sure. It also has a nice asbestos gasket (jk) on the lid, etc. With the huge popularity of these units there are numerous comparison pieces on the interwebz.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.

Is the econoline parked in front of your house?
I'll be very disappointed if it isn't.
Where are these mangos?

What do these do that a regular gas or charcoal grill won't do?

Reach 1000 degrees cooking temp for beef searing,, smoke all day with very little fuel, hold temperature rock steady, way better smoker. The ceramic creates a much more static environment for low and slow but also will produce restaurant quality heat.

So main advantage is use as a smoker? Never tried that before. I have the patience of a 2 year old when it comes to cooking doe.

Very efficient. They maintain temps very well which is crucial for smoking.
I wouldn't use it, personally, for just grilling. Way too expensive for just that purpose .

This is true. Hopefully I'll never be faced with that situation and will therefore never know.

Friend of mine and I were smoking some pork one weekend and decided we needed fireworks. Left his egg for 2 hours and the temp stayed the same.
