Business as usual apparently.
We'll now be owned by banks. Which usually means restructuring in the future. So who knows.

First, quoting 3 months for a scope of work that large is That list is probably 30% more work than I had done by a contractor who was my neighbor and therefore was very good about showing up every day and it still took over 5 months.
2nd, very sorry for all the hassle. I hope the contractor didn't take advantage of your folks because they were elderly. I hope they get their house, and life, back soon.

his words, not mineThe school bus is also a terrible vehicle to travel around the country in. It's bulky, expensive to operate, and expensive to service. But this is my school bus.

Then I bought my bus I was living in a studio apartment in North Austin for around $1200 a month including rent and bills. I moved into a tent in order to save money while working on the bus, commuting 40 minutes to work every day, just to afford more steel and more wood. I had never built anything before, and I couldn't sleep for months because my brain was constantly going a mile a minute about how to build this and what I was going to do to build that. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. While I was building the bus I was cheated on, my dog died, I lost my job, my grandfather died, and Central Texas saw it's wettest year in ages, putting me through 2 floods and multiple hail storms. I know it's a cliche at this point, but seriously: If I can do it, you can too. Follow me on Instagram!

Don't remember if I mentioned this last week.. Sister was due to have her baby this Thursday I think. Mom wasn't sure if she'd be physically able to travel after starting treatment today, so she flew out last Thursday night just to spend some time with my sister and her two kids. Baby wound up coming almost a week early Saturday morning. Pretty cool that my mom got to be there for it.
I'd been doing pretty good with everything, then my sister made a long post about the weekend and my mom on facebook and I just lost it this morning. Been a rough day. Not looking forward to my cancer screening this afternoon.

Service and parts are getting pay cuts, I can only imagine a new pay plan is next, under the guise of being constructed and planned "in our best interest."
