Great color combo, I especially like those seats! I'm impressed that the wife enjoys "manning" a rig that size, if mine was down for it I'd love one for family hauler duties.

She's warming up to it. It provides far more intimidating sight lines than the GMT 800 because of the modern truck design, make errthing tall. It is not, in actuality, significantly bigger than the old one. But it feels bigger from the driver's seat. It does have an accurate backup camera with the "guide" on it though.

OH, and my neighbor's Tahoe that I've borrowed a few times now is a 2017 with the power running boards. Truck has 115k miles on it, and the running boards work perfectly. Neighbor said he didn't want them and expected them to break quickly when he bought the truck, but they just keep going. Even packed in snow/ice/muck they just keep working, impressive to watch. I don't think you'll have to worry about their durability, and they're quite a nice feature for shorter people.

The rounded off corners of yesteryear's truck designs might help to accentuate the lower ride hight even more. New one looks way better :doe:

How difficult would it be to install the review mirror camera from the same year Escalade? When I rented one I thought that was BADASS. EVery fucking car should have one.

My friend has a 2021 Tahoe Premier with that feature. I did not know any K2s came with it.

I brought the car in for an issue where the intercooler seemed to be eating its own coolant (apparently this happens on F80s), and during that diagnosis, they found multiple issues with the engine, which surprised me because the engine hadn't presented me with any problems. It was basically choose between a significant engine repair or replacement, and BMW covered the replacement under goodwill warranty because it was unusual to have any failures like that at the mileage. I'm guessing the engine builder that day had 1 too many liters of beer, but the car's been an absolute peach since then, and I was diligent about breaking in the new engine by keeping the revs low and changing the oil after 1,200 miles. You can see all this in the uploaded service records.
Holy FUCKBALLS looks like the S55 is a mess also :(

The poo brown with red interior and manual is just so bizarre as a spec that it’s cool. You’re never seeing another one in that configuration.

Come to think of it I’ve never actually seen a manual F80.

They have a 50% take rate and imo the superior transmission.

I’ve seen that stat too but around here they all seem to be auto weirdly, even at track events.

Ok, guys.

1. Taking the 2019 Tahoe to Colorado for the month of October, it will be going up on the rack this weekend for its first oil change, tire rotation, and Dimple magnetic plug, and brake fluid change. I have also ordered the 6 piston front brake kit. https://www.shopchevyparts.com/performa ... 03409.html. Got an additional 5 percent off, so like 30% off list. Finally, some justification for the 22s. Will have that installed the weekend after by my guy. I will give him more matching brake fluid to finish the front lines on the install, but after the Max episode, I'm starting this process myself. Truck only has 25K miles on it, but fluid has some color.

2. After 100K miles and 11 years, the Brosteins on the 2003 Tahoe are starting to go. Man, GMT 800 suspension aftermarket is weaksauce compared to many. Looking for a damper a little more compliant or adjustable than the Brostein. GMT 800 Tahoe is not the best riding thing to start with, Bstein a bit firm. Any brilliant ideas?

Can you go with oem ? Or is that not good enough for CC Wine runs. ? If not I think I had decent luck with Rancho on the Terrorist truck. Quality and price point seem pretty good.

I don't think OEM Chevy is something to replicate. I would take the durability/longevity of Brostein over stock soccer mom shocks. I see the Ranchos they might be in the running.

Really curious how you like the BBK on the 'hoe. I remember when that kit came out and the internal :triggered: over the price point almost killed them a few times. Then execs drove trucks with those brakes and were :mindblown: by the performance. The price is high, but they're truly an OEM-engineered BBK.

That fact makes them too good to pass up. Plus I'm getting them for 2 grandish, not 3 grandish. I think 2K is a very fair price for what is being offered.
