It's definitely tempting.

This car still feels like it's stuck in the middle for my use case. I would get more out of either having a sport sedan with a real back seat so I could take a kid or two comfortably, or having something that's more of an event to take out for nothing other than a drive (convertible). That'd either be a Boxster or S2000.

The reasons for both you and max looking to :plac: are too funnny.

You're looking to :nuke: the 2 door sports car because it's just not practical with kids while max is looking for a 2 door sports car because he actually thinks he'll drive it with a :baby:

The backseat in the 86 might as well just be a shelf. It's a joke. :iono:

Honestly? If I sell, it's not getting replaced right away. I'd be ditching the hooptie and replacing it with a nicer daily.

Long-term, though, I'm just not interested in the MK8 at all.

There's Elantra N for $33k. My brother loves his and the refreshed 2024 looks great.

I would fuck with that, but the wife would certainly veto.

I think it's either M3 (E90 or F80), a Boxster, or an S2000. I'd love to have another STi in 2018+ form but wifey would probably veto that too.

I most likely will do exactly nothing. :lolol:

Yeah if you want / require a manual there’s not a whole ton of options that aren’t old as dirt.

I’d probably off it and find something with a real back seat that could sling a kid around occasionally.

This might be a dumb suggestion so go ahead and laugh me off the forum. But what about something like a manual Bronco / Wrongler / Tacoma? They’re fun in a different way.

Wife does not want a manual. I was in part okay spending our money on the 86 because my wife assured me she'd learn. I've taken her out for lessons twice and both times she's been completely overwhelmed. It's not helped by the 86 being especially tricky - between the rev hang and the touchy throttle mapping, even I sometimes have a hard time driving it smoothly nearly two years into ownership.

She basically wants a PDK Boxster and nothing else. She might cave on the S2000 because convertible and because it'd be cheaper to maintain. Otherwise she'd prefer to have nothing and have more of a budget for :pinshit:.

Oh did stis drop in price ? I feel like they were hovering around 38-45 forever. And are those engines at least more reliable ? Do they still pop head gaskets every 70-100k miles

Maybe its just time to change who you are and like the Pcar since asking a woman to change is like asking Putin to retire.
