A motorcycle would only ensure my girlfriend's financial independence via a 1M life insurance cash in. Because I would kill myself FO SHO.

$34,700 plus tax which bumps me into the higher bracket :thanksobama:

Also, much discrepancies between those who include lease and those who don't. What's the rule?

You can't count a lease because you pay as you go, vs actually owning a car IMO.

I suppose the best way to gayge this is to count how much equity you have wasted on a car... vs how much the "MSRP" was.

Me- :turboyaris: $28k bought 6 years ago
Her-Aura ~$27k, iirc bought 8 years ago
So $55,000 total
Mine is simple too, Grandfappy, now that there is no longer a 2 wheeled vehicle in my name.

My :turboyaris: ~29-30k bought 2.5 years ago. Her Impreza ~22k, IIRC. bought a year ago. Neither of which were joint purchases though. We haven't crossed that bridge yet. Though, a house will be on that list within the next 2-3 years.

We've got just over $60k between the 2 vehicles we currently have. Not necessarily happy about it, but they're both good cars and it's a needed part of life. With that said, we're not looking at replacing either of them in the near future, so that's a plus with them being both bought brand new
