i like how they made a commercial of that car showing what it's made of in the first place. Also i'm not sure if the rubicon is higher stock compared to JK?
If that italian diesel engine proven to be reliable for the 1st course, i may consider pulling the plunge.

oh shieettt, thats quite expensive for a jeep. I have better cars in mind for that amount of money. Not so "economical" when you dump $60k on a dieselmax225 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 11:49 amA diesel JL will likely lick 60k, and in most applications it adds 400-600lbs fuck that,MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:12 am

assuming they have cylinder deactivation too. As far as I know, only FCA v8's does that.

that's something i would go for, get base sport, then trade the sport wheels to rubicon or sahara wheels. Then continue to mod the shit out of it. I haven't looked too much for the new wranglers yet.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 12:39 pmIf you want to “save money “ a stripper jk and the money you save over the JL will lay for gas for the time you’re aliveMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 12:30 pm

A euro-designed diesel might not be that bad, they sell a lot more diesels over there.

That engine has been around for about 5 years now I’m sure you can look up the reliability. I can tell you service costs are high.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 12:46 pmHence the word IF.

Or you might as well buy the better model.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 12:45 pmthat's something i would go for, get base sport, then trade the sport wheels to rubicon or sahara wheels. Then continue to mod the shit out of it. I haven't looked too much for the new wranglers yet.

I think this was designed with light commercial use in mind. They don't use diesels that big over there.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 12:47 pm A euro-designed diesel might not be that bad, they sell a lot more diesels over there.
This was made by VY IIRC, the shitty part is the EGR+Donkey PISS+ all those extra cats to comply to modern rules, partially why this thing weighs 400-600lb more than the tried and proven 3.6.

Interesting note on the JL commercials, I am a bit surprised they only showed the 2 door. I know it was a bit of an homage to the old model, but shouldn't' they show off the model that 80% of buyers get?

I thought it looked higher than stock... Does FCA warrant the mods though? I thought they were in some kind of legaleze gray area.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:12 am So, I read a story in my feed about that commercial yesterday. Someone was questioning what mods were done to the Jeep, so they reached out to Jeep and the official reply was that they did two things to that Jeep for the commercial:
1. BFG 35" tires
2. $1,000 Mopar 2" lift kit
for a commercial, some of the vehicles you see are pretty far from stock. You can literally drive it out of the dealership like that.

Mopar lift plus tires bought and installed at you have a good case for warranty.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 1:01 pmI thought it looked higher than stock... Does FCA warrant the mods though? Why would anyone pay that premium? Unless the hybrid is really good I don't see the value.

Yeah, that is one key that Jeep and a few reviewers hit on... also, the TurBro makes a bit more torque, but needs to wind out more, IIRC.
